I shall indeed do this quiz at some point Kai! What kind of cigars do you smoke? I actually started smoking a pipe during quarantine - sweeter tobacco. It's quite pleasant and tasty actually. I still find cigars quite a hefty undertaking. Also I love German riesling!
@deesilvs No stress, you don't have to do it at all! You know there are many different formats of cigars - the ones I "smoke" (more like puffing, actually) are panatelas, fairly slim ones and maybe a good size to start if you want to try them. I love the smell of a nice pipe!
I Googled them - they look quite manageable! I'll have to find some here when things open up again - there's a specialist tobacconist on the other side of Melbourne I want to visit...
@deesilvs Trust me not to even mention any of the other defining characteristics of cgars (not that I know anything much). Besides the format, the other big factor is provenience - the gold standard being Cuban, but I've also found cigars from Sumatra (to name one) very nice. A third factor would be the intensity. But any website (or physical store) that deals in cigars will assist you in your choice.
@kaicito do you have a humidor situation going on? I think we can definitely get Cuban here as there's no trade embargo. Sumatran does sound more exotic however...
@deesilvs No humidor, my consumption of cigars is really too rare for that. Having said that, I recently bought a box of 25, which should last me at least half a year... and at that rate, the last ones may be dried out before I can smoke them...
