I've never been to England..I'm going to Scotland next April though so I'll probably go then, but my boyfriend has and he says people are just all around more respectful of each other....I may not want to leave...going over there from Philadelphia
as to the exchange rate, unfortunatly for you the GB pound is very strong against the us dollar at teh minute (well against almost everything )
so if you change it over there you will get around $2.15 - 1 (give or take a few cents)
however if you wait until your in te uk to change it youll get around $1.85 - 1 as we have some silly exchange tax on foriegn currency over here. all this means is its great to visit america from the uk but not so great the other way around, financially at least
as i said before house shares are fairly easy to come by in manchester thanks to the overwellming number of students that live in the city to study
on joining sguk, it could take a few weeks before your approved, although we are due another vouch thread sometime soon, weve not had one since march, i just think Nic has been too busy with other things to get round to compiling a new list but when it does get sorted you will already have 2 vouches so you should get in pretty easily (the second one being me )
aw yay - of course i'd be your friend!! and you could cuddle me lots, and visa versus. how jolly!!
i didn't know walmart owned asda!! asda's are EVERYWHERE!! and manchester is a great city - i love it there!! and yup - i'll be in manchester or leeds (very near) for the next 4 years or so!! hehe. tis nearly university time, you see.
and don't worry about the flights thing...if you don't want to spend extra, it's a few pounds on a coach if you book early enough between the cities!! i once got to london and back for 4...i was very proud of myself. by no means is it always that cheap, but prices can be way way low when it comes to coach travel!!
i tell you what is one good this about england - it's small!! manchester seems a long way from london, but when you compare it to america, it's nothing!! you can get to one end of the country to the other in a matter of hours, and there are links between all major cities that are normally affordable!
i think it's GREAT that you're making this descision - it wouldn't matter where you were moving to - the UK, the other side of america or tha moon...it's just great that you want something and are going for it!! i really hope this works out for you!!
Hun
I think i created a confused situation with all this about the tour pics and stuff. I'm not in any band, i'm just went in tour with some friends and their respective bands =P
Anyway, my passion for being always on trip and enjoying shows made me think in start my own band, sooner or later.
