Greetings everyone from the sunshine state and Happy Early Independence Day! Finally made it out to Florida a little while ago with the help of my command; I really like it here with how wide open and spaced apart everything is from each other. The people here are really friendly, with the exception of the occasional asshole in the lifted truck who thinks hes a superhero and proceeds to tail gate me, after which I tap/slam my breaks and they just move right the fuck along!
Heres my time there in IG pics (justinwalls84) and such:
My room at the base; Im happy it was a single, but with the thunder storms and already bad connection, sometimes its hard to stay in chat, let alone stay online.
The F-18 hanger I've been working at; even though there's no A/C inside (where I requisition usable parts to other commands), the work is easy.
The first weekend I was there, I decided to check out the Jacksonville Zoo. Place was quite huge; surprised they had as many animals as they did.
Weekend after that, had the chance to meet and hangout with Lexanity, Zink, and their awesome kids; had oysters (very good) and gator (tastes like shrimp with a hint of chicken) for the first time and it was just AMAZING. If you have the chance to try it, dont pass it up. Went to the local zoo there with them as well, was kind of small, but it was great finally seeing the jaguars up close, along with the rhinos. Also I drunkenly debated with Lex whether or not Brock Lesnar was really a bitch for being in the UFC for as short as his visit was. Just an overall fun and relaxing time.
Also got the news today that I'll be extended here for another month. Which is really good and will help with my bills back home throughout the summer. That's all for now, have a great weekend, errbody!!!
