soapbox
I really do believe that this year the world will be a little bit more aware of it's news. We all should be. Im still amazed when I talk to people about the state of the world and they have no clue as to what Im talking about. Sorry, I don't mean to get all preachy but it's very true. People please be more aware, Im not asking that you become the new Bono, just more aware.
I will admit to not always being up with what was happening until a friend pointed me to informative blogs and podcasts that deliver a fair, fact fueled plethora of information. Information is at our fingertips let's not throw it away.
Some of you may know that I have an electronic project here on MySpace called Noise On Port, well the time has come for it to pass on to the big file in the silicone valley of death. Noise On Port has died, while it gave me what I needed for a time, I certainly didn't tackle it the right way. See it's my fault I get pushy and slightly desperate when it comes to my projects, so much so that I don't let anyone else work; I'll say it, it was my fault.
The good news is that I've already started something else, so far I got three songs ready and Im working on graphics and presentation for them. I'm very excited. The major issue that I came across with other projects was the fact that I was trying to be something else, trying to push music that just wasn't supposed to come out of me, that's why it was so hard for me to show it off, hand people copies of it or even let it go out to labels that at one point had shown interest...dumb me.
Well that's all in the past.
I had this conversation with my good friend Pepe a while back right after we saw Porcupine Tree in Tampa, the whole being true to what you believe monologue came out and all. He stood there looking at me like, you've known this all along, now shut up and do it! HA! Next day I made three cuts that to this day hold up so I know they're truly worth the work. Thanks pepe...again.
Im out.
