Phew. It's been a long haul. It was back in May that Otorongo came out and I had my mini stroke. No relation between the two events. Oh, no. Definitely not. Took my blood pressure the other day. 129/63. That's the good news. Lots of money later, not one single solitary copy of Otorongo has been sold. When I had a 98 playing golf and came home and took my blood pressure I said to myself it's better to have a 98 in golf and have 129/63 blood pressure than shoot 79 in golf and have blood pressure of 170/90 (which is what it was when I had the mini stroke). Now most of you folks around here are too young to be worrying about your blood pressure, and I suppose even less of you play golf. But the point is you've got to get your priorities straight. I may suck at golf, I may suck at writing novels, but I'm comfortable, I'm safe, and I'm well fed. I've made it to 69 years old, still workin', still together with my wife, three kids, we all get along great. Even got a grandson now. Like I said, you got to get your priorities straight.
Meanwhile...here's the add in the NY Times Book Review:
iUniverse sent me an e-mail with the above attached. See it there in the lower left? I haven't even bothered to get a copy of it. Cost me $3500 (bargained them down from $5000). Think it'll sell one copy? Hasn't yet.
But I like to write, and life goes on. Check out my Tumblr and see what I'm up to lately. I don't know why you would, but maybe you don't have anything better to do.
Then I forgot to mention shit like this.
