you should put on 24 hour revenge therapy, drink lots of coffee, and be glad you arent at work. dont take too much no-doze because that can ruin any trip. you should also be glad youre not a hipster.
Ahh, young naive Jillopiantubes. A hipster is the one thing you don't want to be. They just take up space at gallery showings and shows and make everyone feel like they should be trying harder. I do, however, envy there haircuts and one-of-a-kind shoes.
You may be one and not even know it though. What with the smoking of Lucky Strikes and all
thank ya. Good luck on the drive. You driving the Geo Metro all the way back? If so the exhileration of knowing you are putting your life in the hands of a tin can with wheels should keep you awake I used to drive one for a delivery job...they're fun stuff. How was San Diego?
You don't want to be a hipster. You'd rather be able to use 'ironic' correctly and think for yourself.
I have to agree with billyboy about the haircuts.
I used to drive 18 hours from NOLA to WV every couple months in a dodge neon. For some psychotic reason I felt I had to do it in one day and in less time each time. Here's what kept me going: coffee beans. All of the caffiene, less the water, ergo less rest stops. For that extra sugar buzz you can get the chocolate covered variant. You have to really like coffee, though. The worst was when I hit a bale of tobacco outside of Bowling Green, KY and had to drive under 50mph the rest of the way and the impact had knocked the cruise control out. Anyway, that's a story for another time...
I'm from Chicago(land) too, and living in North Carolina, that's a hell of a drive to make by yourself in one shot, but I've done it 8 times and counting.
To keep myself awake, I've resorted to howling at the moon (I take off late at night because I drive very fast and there are fewer cops), playing "freeze out" with myself, which consists of both windows down, A/C up full blast, while driving in the wintertime, singing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and on one memorable occasion, when I almost killed myself by falling asleep, I snorted five yellowjackets and some mountian dew. Hope I helped some....
I agree with tanar, I once was driving back on a long journey with no service stops so had no chance (or inclination) to stop. After starting to feel very unsafe I rung my gf and insisted we talked for the remaining 2.5 hours of the journey; at the same time we agreed if at any point I didn't speak for 10/15 seconds she must yell down the phone. God - was I glad to get home that night
Seriously, take care - is there no other way to do it (e.g. train)? I'll be worried about ya in that Geo Metro!
Well, I would if the case would be that I lived abit closer.
Though thanks for the offer.
And oh yeah, if you ever get to sweden, let me know..? I know someone who does tattoes and I get mine rather cheap, and he's good.
Only good about snow is that it looks great, specially in photos, drive carefully. Good tip on driving alone, stop every hour and take a break, get some fresh air and move around abit.
Wow, how long will that drive take? I've done 5 and a half hours before, so staying awake wasn't really a problem, but playing very loud music and singing at the top of your lungs helps.
