I agree 100% @jezlynnb . Music is the best way to get to know people, food being a close second... combine the two with some cocktails, and you have a party. ;-}> I listen to everything, so I am hard to pin down. Right now I am listening to a lot of 50's doo-wop and soul, because it gets my mind off of the modern train wreck. If the Skyliners or Sam Cooke (bless his sweet voice) can't ease your troubles, no one can. :D Whatchu listening to?
@jacleric That's literally the equation to a good time haha. The 50's-60's era definitely has a soft spot in my heart - I've listened to the Skyliners, and "Since I Don't Have You" is right up my alley with that little bit of sadness haha. "Tears On My Pillow" and "Teen Angel" are a couple of my fav doo wops off the top of my head. At this exact moment, I just finished watching a gorgeous pole choreography to "Do You Remember?" by Jarryd James - and it has me feeling bothered in the best way.
@robertbluesman oh I love French music. Next to Russian, it's one of my fav languages to listen to. That song you suggested has me feeling this "get-dolled-up-in-the-morning" mood. I feel pretty just listening to it haha
For me, my guilty pleasure has always been female pop stars, but not all of them. Taylor Swift, Spice Girls, they really make me happy LOL and I'm eclectic when it comes to music, but for the most part country, jazz, and rap just don't do it for me :/
@sheashannara aw, no boot scootin boogie? Lol I am not a hard core fan of Taylor Swift, but her album Red is absolutely beautiful. I have a few guilty pleasures, Celine Dion being one of them - also don't tell anyone I like Nickelback 🙊 hahaha
