ehhh, now I'm curious as to the rest of that scenario!
The bulk of the shit I hear at bars is pretty much garbage. At least that's what it sounds like to me...my hearing is seriously fucked after spending the first ten years of my gig attending career directly in front of the speaker stack without earplugs. What a dumbass I used to be. USED TO BE, I SAY!
I do not like to hang around in bars for just the type of reason you mentioned. I prefer to do my drinking at a table in a fine eating establishment (makes me feel like less of a lush too).
Record store in Chicago was called Reckless Records.
Just out of interest, do people go to bars in the US to drink alone or to socialise with girls (or boys, whatever your pleasure...)?
All the things I read about 'bars' seem to be really negative.
We obviously have violence in pubs in the UK too (just have a look at my profile pic to see my fine local drinking establishment...can you imagine what the doormen look like?? )...but once the wankers are chucked out then you can carry on drinking and messing about and listening to bands as usual.
Anyway...just wondering about a US perspective of drinking and late-night socialising...
that guy looks like chandler from friends .. pointing in my direction. Although one time I was at this festival and everything was going to erupt into a big brawl between these two gangs cuz one guy broke the other guys chain ... I was getting out of there as soon as I could.
