In the U.S. I drive everywhere. I have to fly internationally a few times a year and I hate it, because this is my worst nightmare! Today they are saying it may have been intentional on the part of the co-pilot. God rest their souls!
I get on flights without so much as a second thought... The way I think of it is that the percentage of crashes that happen on the road every day is way higher than the percentage of plane crashes... I guess it has a completely different feel to it being so high up, but I always think that fear should be backwards x) @lordskrappy ... Thanks for the update! @indigoeden You are absolutely correct. It is far more dangerous to drive to the shopping mall, than to fly around the world. I'm a Ground Transportation Safety Lecturer. I love to drive, but planes still freak me out :) Really, I have an ulterior motive. On each of my automobile trips, I plan stops at the coolest little destinations. At times, it's a real pain to drive, so I make it worth the trip. I must admit, the sky is so much safer. Cheers!
