i have this undisciplined thought that what it means to be human can be explained by a linear algebra equation (even though life is likely non-linear). This equation goes something like this: HUMAN = a(f1) + b(f2) + ... a(n)(f(n)). where (f(n)) is some element that contributes to making us human and a(n) is a coefficient for mixing that (f(n)) into HUMAN. The coefficients explain why we're different from each other -everyone's set of coefficients would be unique. The functions capture the upper and lower limits of human existence. So for example, there would be no f(n) for flying b/c we can't fly unaided like a bird, but there would be an f(n) for joy, cruelty, indifference, ennui, etc. or creativity which would be a backdoor f(n) to flying.
