Hey, if we do a month to month thing for lib. poli. Will you accept submissions for the pic?
itwasduke:
Cool thanks... smile

Check out Franny and Zooey.

Love Spaceballs. DarkHelmet is one of my absolute favorite characters.

Thanks for the vicodin advice. For me though it does nothing but knock me out.

I don't trust the homeopathic remedy for strep...the antibiotics usually really kick it's ass. The vicodin was a total surprise. I've never had that offered before. I've actually only taken 2 of the 5 I was given and don't really have plans on taking the other ones. Thanks for the idea though. I'm leading toward tonsil removal at this point. I can't take having strep a couple of times a year.

Squishylizard is a cool chick.

about to head out the door, just wanted to say hi!

Just an FYI: I made the SG Con group private for a specific reason. I wanted to avoid the kind of confrontation you now seem to be facing in Lib Politics. That particular member is not, to the best of my knowledge, part of our group. I think his attitude and his posts are both rude and antagonistic, considering their location. While this might be fine for the CE boards, I don't think it belongs in a politically-specific group. While I doubt many liberals would want to jump into the SG Con threads to stir shit up, someone would surely take the opportunity. Remaining private is the only way to keep the discussion amongst ourselves.

I posted this in your journal rather than in Lib Politics out of respect. I offer my comments in the spirit of co-operation between one group owner and another. I hope it is taken that way.

ARRR!!!

RYN: No, the photoset problem is in my group. For some reason, we can't post pictures into the photoset area. Repeated requests have been acknowledged, but nothing has been fixed yet. Soon after our group was approved, they changed the process. I think it means that we are built on old script, while all the new ones are built on newer, flawless script. A few other groups have the same problem.

As for the free speech issue, you also have the right to a private assembly. I don't (entirely) limit the speech of the membership, I just limit the membership. If people want to debate left vs. right, cap vs. com, or union vs. corp, the CE baords are the place for that. I look at it like a party convention, without the television. We spend more time talking about conservative views than we do about us vs. them.

Well, aside from the MM screed wink

Anyway, I was just offering some unsolicited information on why I made the choice I made. It isn't about freedom, or elitism, but simply having a forum to discuss things without snarky comments throwing things off topic.

ARRR!!!

Hey. I think you do such a great job hosting the Liberal Politics Group...stellar. But if i may offer a bit of criticism of your new 'rules' thread.

Independents (and even conservatives) are welcome to join this group, but please refrain from flaming threads. It will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate dismissal.

This may imply that liberals are beyond reproach as far as posting flaming threads...you're directing your instruction to independents and conservatives.

That's the only criticism i have. Keep up the great work!

Hey! I'm not actually from the Upper Peninsula, as Shawna pointed out in my journal. I just recently moved up here to get away from Milwaukee and for school when it starts in the fall. I'm an English writing major with minors in mathematics and computer science. Writing is an enormous passion of mine. I think sometimes I wasn't born to speak, only to write tongue. Looks like we have something in common; we're both mathematics minors. What do you plan on doing after graduating?
shawna:
Where were you when I had to read that story for Spanish Lit?
shawna:
Ah, but you see, the problem with your suggestion is that this person is not a SuicideGirls member... I was just ranting, saying on here what I couldn't say to him.
And nope, I don't attend GVSU, but my sister does. I'm a NMU student.
And I've never heard of the Indigo Girls... what genre are they?

BTW -- an easy way to figure out how people do stuff is to click reply, don't submit it, but just check out the code in the reply box.
oracle:
I found you well...cause I saw your name on some thread and thought it was cool...no worries as fucked up as my personal life maybe...I am a machine at work, close everything off and control airplanes, its like a video game
dnmolenaar:
Hey, I explained for the most part what happened in the situation that came up in the last few days, in case you are interested.

Thanks again

itwasduke:
Hey, are you intrested in working witht he Kerry campaign?

I volunteer for the Kerry campaign and we have all kinds of ideas that people could do locally for the Democratic campaign and also the larger agenda of American politics as a whole. Simple stuff and some can qualify as parties. It never hurts to network in politics.
