jesus, that's a long entry. =)
no, i'm sure he's insured, but those bastard insurance companies raise the premiums SO much more for this crap. i got into a fender bender (that didn't even bend my fender, by the way, and did minimal damage on the other guy's) going less than one mile an hour, backing out of a parking space blind, and my payments shot way up. damn. ARRR!!!
memmnochthedevil:
ye I agree it does send a bad message....so now i can go get on any Kerry bashing baord and start some shit. ha ha
But yes a mod's job is to moderate not just close the shit down whenever they feel like it. Delete the offening comments not the whole damn topic. It just makes me sad frown
fallfromgrace:
I was sad because I just have a real hard time fitting in with people. I'm more of a recluse, and I think I might have social anxiety. But I really want to meet people, particularly women, and get into a relationship. It's just sad that when I do go out, I'm constantly feeling out of place or ignored.
_sarah_:
Have you applied for SGKazoo? That's a bit more reliable. Dave doesn't do invites. smile

How long does it take you to type that up? I read it all though, which I am proud of myself for because I have the attention span of a 3 year old.

My loan is from Citibank and is 8.9% which worked out to be ok because all my credit cards were like 12% so I will be saving money in the long run. I kinda feel like a big weight is being lifted off because I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

You should put up more personal stuff in your journal man.

Well, that was a bad night. I'm not sure that I have social anxiety, but I'm pretty shy. It's really something "seasonal" I guess; it comes and goes. Yeah, I really want to meet someone, and while I'm fairly dubious about meeting someone online, I'm also not against it. At any rate, I need a job (or two) and my car fixed before I'm even datable from a money and transportation standpoint.

I'll check those groups out. I can't say dating sucks because I've never dated though. And as far as pills for cures go, I had enough of that when I was insane (at 11, locked up in padded rooms). Ever read the side effects of common tranqs like Thorazine? that's some scary shit to give junior higher.
_sarah_:
Yes, I go to $$$WMU$$$.

I didn't lose either job. I just shortened my profile.
hellocentral:
guess what the bastard insurance company is doing to me now???? this is far worse.
so i had my engine replaced, it cost $2,000 with labor, and when i got the car back and tested it out, the front dash switched off. no gauges or anything. i took it back, the mechanic looked at it, and while he was driving it the wires caught on FIRE.
this is explicitly COVERED by my insurance. they specifically in my policy say that if the problem is "a burning of wires used to connect electrical devices in the car"... it's covered.
but according to them, they think that a total replacement of all the wiring in the car, finding out what caused the fire, fixing the problem, and all the towing can be covered by sending me a check for ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY DOLLARS.
my mechanic told me that the insurance adjuster told him to "splice some wires" and send it back to me, and that they're NOT CONCERNED about what CAUSED the fire. they refuse to pay anything if it happens again.
can you fucking believe that?????
don't get allstate. you're not in good hands.
sorry for the rant. ARRR!!!
laylajane69:
Good to see you back!
rottenart:
hey, that's a nice story. i've never heard of Welty before. guess i'll have to check her out now. i was going to ask you if you've read a book called Colonialism/Postcolonialism by Ania Loomba. I picked it up for a class, but we never read it . i was flipping through it and it seems pretty interesting.

p.s. i apologize for not being more activ ein the Group. those damn CE boards keep me on my toes! if you check back to my journal periodically, you'll find all thing literary that I do. there's always a new short story, poem, or song. just thought you might want to know.

cheers.

rottenart:
yeah, it was on my "assigned" list for my intro to critical reading/cultural studies class. that was basically the 2300 english pre-req. it was never actually given as a required read tho. it's sub-title is: a new critical idiom so you can surmise content on your own. i was just wondering if you'd heard of it. i'll probably read it this summer.

please continue to give me poems circa 90-91. i love to hear the trials and tribulations of others in my generation.

i will take your advice about posting double threads in both CE and the group. it would be nice to discuss points without the interference the neo-con bias of pat, stock, totten, and others.

i do have one complaint. YOU'RE TOO GODDAM PROLIFIC!! every time i vist the group there's like forty new posts to comment on. give us a chance to catch up, bro!! wink

see-ya round...

Hola, amigo. Hey, whatever happened with the photo for the group? I'm still pushing for Mother Jones, by the way. Hope all is well.
