A good part of that movie is when the character Holden goes home & his parents say "Hi Tom" and he tells Jennifer Aniston that Holden is his name but Tom is his slave name. I thought it was a good movie.
And I added a couple of pictures of Michael "why does everyone hate him?" Moore and Crackers the crime fighting chicken. I think JFK needs to be retired.
How about The Daily Show's Jon Stewart. Everyone is a fan of him and the show has always been liberal with an edge. I'm sure people would have a fit with Hilary...
yeah, I have a T-mobile Sidekick. I'm always hooked into the internet with it.
Emo is hard to pin down. Here'sa good link for it's history. I'm mostly into stuff that more represents mainstream stuff than traditional Emo (that usually is sold on vinyl). Plus, I'm broke, so no music buying for me.
Thanks for the advice matey. Hearing that speech actually makes me cry, which obviously makes any nearby female want to sleep with me... alright, so that last bit is a lie... but yes, there was such hope. Still such a long way to go...
Hey, thanks for the invite to the liberal politics section. I actually checked it out - the reason why I wasn't overly excited about the idea is that there's an election 2004 group already (which I'm in as well) that covers a lot of the same material, and the boards are primarily people with liberal political views to begin with. I think discussions are more lively and interesting with a little opposition, that's why I haven't joined. I know there's a conservatives group, which I think is sort of silly - but it makes sense in the same way that, for example, many large universities have asian-american clubs but no caucasian-american clubs. If you're already in the majority, there's not much point in exclusivity.
Still, I appreciate the thought, and I'll probably end up stopping by occasionally and checking out what's going on in the group. I also appreciate your comments (and compliment ) on the current events board.
I'm sorry if you read my post about the coffin pics the wrong way. I haven't ventured back into the thread to look since everyone missed my meaning. I wasn't defending Bush at all.
no thanks, i hate liberalism almost as much as conservatism...and i hate politics in general more than both put together.
i'm the guy on the ground in the dirt who's strings are pulled at the whim of those asses in office. sort of makes you bitter towards suits and wing-tips in general. discussing the bullshit only makes me want to break things.
ok, time for this guy(me) to get back into the mix. i wana be informed...it's ironic that in this day and age of instant electronic information transfer that i'm drowning in a sea of information. so much of it seems like propaganda and spin-doctoring that there really is NO place to get honest and to the point information...where can i find the real story? i've heard "The Economist" is prety balanced, but they seem a bit conservative...any thoughts? i'm not looking for any lefty or righty stuff...i'm looking for truely fair and balanced.
Well, when you are getting a Masters you must be enrolled in a university. A college is a part of a university. So I'm enrolled in a university, but finished college a few years ago.
MA-journalism. Possibly entering into a communications PhD program, but right now I'm doubting it.
I already wrote a 120 page undergraduate thesis, so I'm not worried about that. The real question is if I go with a practical career, what I'm training for now, or skip straight into academia. I'll probably work for a few years before I decide.
