dorwayin:
Those turtles are great.
I am actually gonna have a yard sale july 4th weekend. When I stop at a yard sale, I am usually looking for old cameras. I found a kodak brownie for $1. What a score.
Famous person, I will think on it and let you know.
Funny that you should ask about the business cards. I got them in the mail this morning before leaving for work. Message me your address and I will send some asap.
jacksalt:
Kayaking and canoeing rock my world. I haven't gone in a year or so, but Regan and i try to go once a year to Elkhorn Creek, a truly lovely spot. We need to go this year.

And such beautiful pictures!!

I like yardsaling. regan loves it. so much in fact we've been known to get sucked into entire days of it, while having intended to do something else!

About the group, thanks, but eh. Whatever.
And i get so steamed about politics and life these days. i can't get out of it. I don't NEED to watch the news or listen or read. I can't help myself thinking about it.
We need a quick readjustment, to harness the anger. Easier said than done.

*sigh*

i hope you have a nice weekend with your Mexican roomate!! or without the roomate for that matter.... biggrin

And for celebrities, I have an insatiable lust for Scarlett Johansson. I'm in therapy. tongue
shellymc:
Those photos are so beautiful!
i'm gonna have to check out the review over there on IMDB..
i had a feeling it might be one of those films that are so bad they are kind of good.
And i'm jealous that you guys got new orleans type restaurants....
hope you have a great meal.
I like yard sales, but i never go to them anymore because we have way too much "Stuff" in this apt. already.
I'm trying hard to not collect things as much as i used to.
Maybe if i had the actual space it would be different.
You should see how much shit D and I have right now!
we are simply clusterfucked whatever

and there are way to many celebrities that i would get naked with wink
tom nite i'm going to a bachelorette party..which will entail dinner and club.
the good thing is that we are dining at "Pho Republique" and there food is excellent.... plus my friend Jodi works there and she will be there and hopefully get to wait on our table biggrin
Hope you have a good weekend! kiss
testykitten:
beauteeful pictures!

i love yard sales but dont seem to find the time to go trolling for them like i used to. i would like to have my way with benicio del toro.

by the way...viva lucha!! i will be there! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! tongue
feerlessfreddy:
hola, coma has estado? im not a big fan of doing yard sales but i do occasionally like to go to them. i like finding really old stuff. i found a camera from the 1930's that i bought. but when i went to get film for it they no longer made it. i would have to find it on ebay or something. the next question, hmmm. thats hard, i would say Scarlett Johansson. enjoy your breakfast.
shellymc:
Hola!
I'm looking forward to having a coconut martini tonight!
and i have no clue how to navigate around ebay, but a lot of folks rave about it..
D and I need to have a yard sale soon too..
way to much clutter around here..
yup, off to hang out in boston tonight, hopefully i'll have a good time..
talk soon biggrin
dingoes8:
The Angel finale is like my favorite episode of anything ever... I've seen it so many times and it's still awesome.

I did catch the VM finale, which was also pretty awesome. Can't wait for next year!

Yard sales aren't my thing, but those pictures are nice. Almost makes me want to go outside. wink
shellymc:
I'm relaxing!
sorry to hear your yardsale didn't get a good turnout.
The 23 yr old was completely drunk!
but quite feisty wink
but i behaved... i mean i was with a bacherolette party, so i pretty much had to..
i'm about to watch a movie myself..just have to decide what to pop in the dvd player.
Tell me how your film is after seeing it..
well, not immediately afterwards but you know what i mean wink
sounds like your new roommate is a sweetheart.
talk soon
surlymike:
Aloo palak, samosa, and aloo paratha.

All at once.

I'm a bit full at the moment. biggrin
arottenkitten:
hey sista'!

that sucks to hear that Carroll wasn't too nice, but oh well maybe that's what happens when you've had a tough life.
It appears that the film Factotum is already made or at least it's been screened from what I read on the link you sent me, wonder why i haven't ever seen it out yet. maybe distributing problems? I noticed Matt Dillon is in, he must play Hank, crazy!
My film is a doc. on an artist (he does collage) and his life, he's a really awesome man. I just love him. I should have it done by the end of the year (crossing my fingers)!
Also, those are some beautiful pictures! I've never been kayaking, but I'd like to!
Are you vegetarian also?
talk soon cutie!
xoxo
miao!!
shellymc:
The chilaquiles look tasty!
but what exactly is in them?
and the white chocolate dip was for the strawberries, but managed to get accidentally smeared on some poor girls jeans and we spent like an hour trying to get it off biggrin
and while it was flattering to have a 23 yr old hit on me, it was kind of embarassing as well...
i realized how sexist i must be, because if that had been a young guy fondling me on the dance floor.. i would have smacked him!
how was the movie?
I ended up watching "Hypercube" .... not that good.
but i watched "Road trip" again and had a good laugh.
needless to say, D got the computer for the remainder of the night.
but considering the fact that he worked 17 hours on sat. and did a 8hr shift for a fundraiser on sunday, i just had to spoil him a bit. biggrin
and he brought me home some Jambalaya yesterday...
testykitten:
i think its wonderful that you have such a positive outlook. good on you!

and hurray mexico!!

and i know where to get the good veggie tacos in coyoacan (and super-authentic, not yuppie style). smile
testykitten:
thats quite ambitious! just remember- you will be a little slow because of the time change and high altitude.
arottenkitten:
Where are ya' going on your trips?
I will definitely be submitting my film to festivals, so I'll keep ya' posted on it's progress!
And yes, I am an L.A. baby, which is gonna' be weird to leave here for such a long time, I've not been away from "home" for more than 3 weeks! eeek
As for my fave vegan/veggie restaurant it is definitely Follow Your Heart cafe in Canoga Park...scrump-diddly-ump-tious!! Ooh i want to eat there right now, I'm droolin'!! heehee
Anyway, Follow Your Heart makes a good deal of my favorite vegan foods, and the cafe is yum and fun!
I plan to be in L.A. once a month to visit my family and hang with my friends/editor.
It would be rad to hang out with you if we're here the same time!
Although you say it's "too dull to list" I'm interested in what "you do"?
Ciao for now,
xo
miao!!
shellymc:
those chilaquiles sound awesome...
even without meat! wink
a 6hr italian movie? eeek
i give you credit, i don't know if i have the patience for a movie that long, no matter how good it is.
and yes, the jambalaya was from Coriander...
it was really good, but it could have been a tad bit more spicy
Road trip is a seriously goofy film, but it is a lot of fun.
i like stupid juvenile teen comedies...
always have biggrin
chalka:
I would most like to have Juliette Lewis attack me.
blackdye15:
I got Lilly at the Humane Society near Magnolia off of 15th. And yes, she is very hyperactive, just the way we hoped!

My husband had a Border Collie/Black Lab mix before we moved up here. I got to live with him for about 4 years before we moved up here. We figured he'd like a 70 acre farm over a crate ride on an airplane and a Ballard back yard. Especially since he's never even set foot in a crate in all his 7 years. tongue

I love your pictures. I just adore turtles. I like to go sit at Golden Gardens at their 'Wetlands' area and watch the turtleburtles there. Such sweet hearts!

There's a canoe in our garage. I think me and the hubs should learn how to canoe this summer!
testykitten:
and i have several hispanic friends here not to mention a mexican mother (who grew up in a bilingual household) that speak less spanish than i do! our generation just sort of missed the boat. the mexican and i do practice sometimes- more when we are in mexico. i have to constantly remind him, though. english comes so naturally to him that he totally forgets. well, poco a poco, eh?
arottenkitten:
ohh how i envy your trip to Mexico City! i want to go there so bad!!! I want to see the pyramids and museums, etc. Take pics, I wanna' see!!
I will post photos of any fun/interesting/weird stuff/places I encounter during my stay in OK. for sure!
I love taking photographs, film.
I want to try those restaurants you mentioned, especially Native Foods, I've never been to either.
I understand your job may not be too exciting, but hey we've gotta' pay the bills, once I relocate to OK, I will get another job which I'm sure won't be as fun and rewarding as the tutoring one I have here.
But hey it's temporary! We gotta' do what we gotta' do, eh!
HEY! there's a squirrel outside my balcony on the power line, CUTE!
xo
miao!!
shellymc:
i can't remember if you have seen "Eurortrip"?
that was kind of fun...
see that before seeing "Hostel" or you will be ruined for european vacations tongue
I loved "Can't hardly wait"...
not a road comedy, but a decent modern teen comedy...
have you seen that one?
and "Harold and Kumar go to white castle" is funny also...
but the strange thing is how funny i find the "scary movie" films so far whatever
though nothing beats the John Hughes films from the 80's...
well, except for "Say anything" biggrin
shellymc:
yes...i do believe they used that song too.
I loved Final destination!
except now whenever i hear the John Denver song "Rocky mountain high" i get all paranoid whatever
i didn't see the third one yet, but i heard the death scenes were very creative..
Harold and Kumar had some great scenes..
"Did Doogie Howser just steal my car"?
Neil Patrick Harris was great in that...
"Yeah.. i want some burgers.. fur burgers"
tripping on e and rubbing himself against the carseat tongue
I still love the ones from the eighties the best though...
i never get tired of watching movies like "Sixteen candles" and "Some kind of wonderful".
I had a huge crush on Molly RIngwald when i was younger, also John Cusack and Deborah Foreman from "Valley girl"
Do you like Vince Vaughn at all?
pastura:
well thank you, ma'am.

i saw the "what famous person..." and immediately thought of Walt Whitman because he's the famous person living or dead with whom i'd love to have lunch, but then i read the rest of the question and i really don't think i'd want to see him naked. thanks, though. wink

and that certainly does look like a lovely weekend. as soon as i get a couple more minutes, i'm going to post my pretty weekend pictures. ah, spring. i bet you guys are several weeks behind us though since you're so far north... most of our flowering trees are all leafed out now.

and how do you have a roommate from mexico? did Bush okay that?
juliebogart:
Great pics
beautiful colours eeek
