afterbirth:
Thanks!
I was about to ask you!
pastura:
garrr, ya beat me to it, friend. ARRR!!!

glad i've saved a few souls from the horror that is Ethnic Gourmet, even if i had to suffer through the squeaky cheese myself. and i totally know those spinach tofu egg rolls! i love 'em! i'm pretty sure they have them at our organic store, but i haven't had any in a long time. i should get some again, and i've been neglecting Amy's brand stuff... guess that's because i'm trying to limit frozen food altogether.

the two types of "sausages" you mentioned in that comment were exactly the ones i was trying to remember from the veg thread. they sound so delicious - i hope they live up to their names. and what's this Middle Eastern flatbread? is that the brand name? never heard of Fabe's desserts either.

one thing i can recommend right off the top of my head is Veet fake chicken chunks. i'm not sure if they're vegan or not (are you, by the way?), but they go so perfectly well with sweet & sour veggies and rice.

one of my pups howls at sirens occasionally, too. sometimes, when he's too lazy to do that, he'll just kind of groan deep down in his throat. eyes closed and everything. like he's just momentarily annoyed in his sleep.

oh, and i know what you mean about t-shirts fluttering on motorcycles. very astute. wink
shellymc:
no... i couldn't get the link to work!
glad you liked the movie..
but most critics are saying exactly what you and Mike said
The film is cute, Gretchen is great...
but just not a lot of substance.
And only a small sliver of Bettys life.
I've been a fan of Bettie Page since the late 80's when she was used as a reference model for the girlfriend in the comic book "The Rocketeer"
I have a pinup tattoo on my right hip that was based on Bettie Page biggrin
I'm such a geek!
shellymc:
Is this your first tattoo?
so... its a secret i take it wink
looking forward to seeing it!
I'm a bit bummed because Kera got archived...
and for the record, though i'm sure i already probably told you..
at this moment, Bettie Page is indeed still alive.
She's way up there in age, but doing pretty good.
Hugh Hefner and a few other folks look out for her and her financial state.
I have a semi cool Bettie collection in our home.
I will post a pic of my tattoo one day, its kind of cute but pretty ol school.
so, can you at least drop a hint about what kind of tattoo you are getting?
shellymc:
D does have a pic of my tattoo in his pics folder ( under Ink)
but its kind of blurry and doesnt really do it justice.
shellymc:
i agree...
the ending should have probably given people not so acquainted with her an idea as to where the hell she was or if she was even still alive.
I liked "Calvin and Hobbes"!
also was a big fan of "The far side"..
remember that one?
D is baking that cake tonight whatever
not looking forward to that seductive smell lingering in my apt.
Trouble on the horizon...
shellymc:
D is home...
and there is activity in the kitchen!
also...
will step away from SG in a moment to check out the pics
thanks for liking my hip!
hips are soooo underrated biggrin
I don't remember that particular Far side cartoon...
but theres been so many!
shellymc:
The pics came out great!
if you don't mind...
send me your email address when you get the chance...
one never knows when it could come in handy biggrin
shellymc:
hip bones can be quite sexy wink
surlymike:
I know that being social is what I should be doing, but I always have that inward inclination. I probably said more to some co-workers tonight than I had in nearly two years prior!
jacksalt:
Glad you guys had a great time last weekend! Sounded really fun.

And thanks for the sympathy. We've gone through a lot of dog death and illness the past year or two- they've all gotten old at the same time.

For the most part, I do trust the vet. we go to a clinic, so there's 6-7 doctors, and the one we had recently is an intern? resident? new at any rate.
We're seeing the one we really like and trust this morning.

And thanks on the profile!! I like it too! smile
jacksalt:
That's a great picture.

I'm jealous. tongue
pastura:
I don't remember what brand the eggrolls were, but no, I don't think they were Amy's.. or Trader Joe's because I've seen them elsewhere.

I'll have to check out Fabe's later. I should be getting ready for work...

Mind if I hire you to be my own personal chef? I'd consider going vegan if it were easier here, but my problem is that I don't like spending that much time on food - cooking, preparing, shopping, studying. I'd have a hard time and always eat the same few things. As it is, I avoid dairy when I can. I'm probably 50% vegan. But good for you. We do as much as we can, and that's what counts.
shellymc:
All i remember about that huge thing they served at the end of the meal was that it consisted of meat, cheese and veggies kind of triple layered inside some bready thing..
whatever the hell it was, it looked pretty damn good!
shellymc:
and i love the movie Chocolat..
how can one go wrong with Juliette, Johnny and vast amounts of cocoa bean biggrin
shellymc:
Good luck with the tattoo!
do you mean when responding to someone elses comment?
in regards to the little box question?
shellymc:
He's finishing it tonight...
and knowing him..
there will be pics!
in groups i know how to do it...
you just click on reply i believe, but when people post comments in my journals i'm not sure how surreal
It doesn't give you the reply option..
when are you going to get the tattoo?
shellymc:
Are you going alone?
and have you ever had a tattoo done by her before?

So many questions...
so little time biggrin
shellymc:
I hear ya!
i have two around my ankle area...
and it didn't tickle..
never experienced any pain whatsoever with my piercings.
But a few tattoos i had done made me wince a bit
shellymc:
okay...
good luck!
post a pic when you can.
I have six tattoos, and eleven piercings...
then i became poor, so that ended the whole body modification thing for me biggrin
shellymc:
perhaps its a good thing...
if i had money, i would probably be covered in ink and jewelry biggrin
seriously wish i had more though, the temptation is always there.
However, the money isn't
Plus my main body piercer up and left and moved to Oregon!
He was my favorite..
shellymc:
I'd have to track him down and see if he's still piercing!
last i heard he was thinking of starting a tribal arts museum surreal
he collected all that stuff.
He was such a great piercer!
and he was a hottie to boot biggrin
as was his ex wife who used to run the shop back in n.y.c before their divorce.
He always went out of his way to make you very comfortable...
and give you that non sexual vibe when piercing your nether regions wink
shellymc:
Hope you are happy with the tattoo! kiss
shellymc:
The cake was excellent!
the shower however...
four fucking hours long eeek
there went my saturday!
looking forward to seeing your tattoo biggrin
feerlessfreddy:
