So what is going on?
In the Ukraine right now the people are camping out (hundreds of thousands of them) in the capital city demanding a re-count of their election.
They have food.
They have water.
They have spare winter clothes for the people that should show up today from other cities.
In Chile students/farmers/and workers had running battles with police the entire time that Bush was in the country. They stood up, they said what they thought needed to be said, and they fucking resisted with all of their might.
In Iraq soldiers get up every day and fight in an attempt to rid themselves of the shackles of either religous extremism (the iraqi national gaurd), or an occupying force of western crusaders (the insurgency).
The Columbian government was so terrified of it's own PEOPLE that it:
banned the sale of alcohol for the day of bush's visit.
gave the day off from work and school
cleared out the downtown area
put up military road blocks
closed down it's air space
filled it's ports with sub-marines
and
deployed 15000 (more troops then the US has in Fallujah) troops to protect OUR president, who was there for 4 hours!
AND THEN THERE'S US. SAYING SHIT LIKE:
"I'm burnout on politics for a while now"
"This shit aint never gonna change"
"I'd rather just go to a show, and take some time to collect my thoughts."
Man guys I'm not trying to be an asshole here. But what are we doing? We can't lick our wounds forever, I mean there still are:
War's in Iraq, Afgahnistan, the Phillipines, the horn of Africa, and South America (that the US is responsible for)
11.2 percent of the US population is at the poverty line
A christian fundamentalist regime has taken over the worlds last super power.
Genetically modified crops are being forced down the throats of the third world.
Our roadless areas are being chewed up by a combination of federal, and state legislation.
Woman are turning back into the slave/baby machine/dish washer/no rights/get stoned on your wedding night if you aren't a virgin/pieces of property that they were for severl thousand years.
man I could go on for hours.
well I feel better.
America's apathy is shamefull!
peace

just remember, you already have enough stuff to worry about all on your lonesome. Concerning yourself with problems that only affect you when you let them is like beating a pile of dead gophers.
