cyanea:
busy much? lol
shadowslightness:
Yeah, the energy has been strange. My neighbor thinks it's because of all the condos being built and the nightlife being gutted. Le sigh...

Yeah, I'd love to see something beautiful and serene like Colorado (never been), but the other part of me wants to see a big city since I never really get the chance got leave Seattle much anymore. My ideal trip would be a one way ticket to the east coast, then taking Greyhound or Amtrak back. Taking my time, seeing the country for what it really is, maybe stopping in a random hotel in a scenic nowhere town. Here's to dreaming I guess..

And holy shit, that's some intense studying for school! Good luck, my friend!
satsujin:
Wow yourself, buddy. biggrin Haha. smile
satsujin:
I t was sassy. It was. But on good terms. =]

And no, no book deal. I don't have the focus to get the storyline IN my head -- out. Sort of sucks. thought of doing a graphic novel instead, but that means I still need to storyboard it, and then get some poor schmuck to illustrate it for me. Eeeeeeeesh.
satsujin:
Good. I'm glad you weren't offended. Haha. Maybe we could collaborate. I'll tell you what the goods are you and write 'em. :d
aesirr:
Thanks man. I've decided I can live with people not turning up, especially when I can extract a Christmas present from them as recompense biggrin .

The pizza does most assuredly help though lol.

You sound to have one hell of a busy time going on yourself there, makes me remember why I never went in for science (well after I failed A-Level Physics anyway). Good luck with that.
aesirr:
Assuming our local takeaway is open tonight its pizza tonight.

Well its pizza either way cos if they aren't I will just make some anyway.

Worst subject I ever tried to learn at Uni was Japanese and let me tell you trying to learn Japanese at one of the best business schools in the UK is not easy.

Nearly cost me my honours degree right out of the gate.
aesirr:
My degree is in Business and Management Studies. It ain't the best degree as I had a shitty year with everything in my final year.

I honestly don't quite get he US degree system. In the UK it goes from highest to lowest (at undergrad):

1st
2nd First Division (2:1)
2nd Second Division (2:2) What I got in the end, should have been a 2:1
3rd

Those are on the honours degree, if you get a regular I'm told its just a pass or fail. But I get to bear BSc Hons after my name now so I'm happy.

I'm aiming for an MSc in Marketing next as that's the direction I want to go in but I was late getting in my Jan application thanks to a late reference.
aesirr:
Ah well thats where it all works on percentages and weird combinations.

First year at my place 12 modules which you have to pass all to get to year 2. Doesn't count to your end grade.

Year 2, starts on the percentage scale I will show below. But all these results count as 1/3 of your final grading.

Year 3 same percentage scales but it counts for 2/3 of your final grade.

The percentages are:
1st = 70%+
2:1 = 60-69%
2:2 = 50-59%
3rd = 40-49%

Anything below 40 is a fail. I averaged mainly in high 50's and middle 60's with a couple 70's thrown in. I failed a couple in my final year badly enough to bring the (rather convoluted) average down to a 2:2 rather than a 2:1.
basketcase:
Haha, thanks for correcting me. When I read your comment, I laughed out loud at myself. The irony of it. Goodness, thanks. I fixed it blush

Getting together on the new year? You mean tomorrow night? I'm heading over to a friend's place for New Years.

What are you going to school for anyways?
satsujin:
Maaaaaaaaaan. School. =/ I need to go back. I'm getting too old to be selling porn. /)_(\

I keep getting the itch to go and then I wind up waiting for some retarded reason. You're the new inspiration!

ps: the girl i wrote that for loved it. yay!
basketcase:
Sounds good. Good luck! As for me, my mom's has been a labor and delivery nurse for 30+ years and has really rubbed off on me and my 2 sisters. Becoming a midwife is my most likely route, and I'm considering acupuncture in addition to it (I've also considered ND, but I'm not sure I'm up for it whatever at least not yet). One of my sister's is working on becoming a post-partum doula and my other sister is considering midwifery too... I guess you could call it a family thing tongue I'm not sure when I'll go back to school, but it'll probably be within the next 5 years.

No, you were right, it was an apostrophe blush

Have a good New Years with your beer and possible bourbon... and don't be another drunken idiot driving around hitting other people. The family I worked for this week, the mom told me this morning that in the last couple of year, they've either been hit or almost hit by drunk drivers twice. The one that hit them was on the next afternoon when they were going out to lunch and the guy was still drunk. The other one ended up hitting somebody else. So now, they stay home for New Years. I don't drink and I've been told by 1 of my 2 friends, whose house I'm going to tonight, that they have fairly mellow parties. Hopefully he's telling the truth because I don't really care to be around excessively drunk people.

And the hanging out bit... if it's in the evening I might be up for it, but I work all week. Though I'm off at 3pm in Bellevue on Wednesday.
basketcase:
Haha, too bad he was actually sober too, so he didn't have any help from the alcohol whatever
Turns out my sister needs help, so I'll be giving her a hand with the kiddo and driving her around.
You're going to Bastyr right now? Very cool. I went with my sister to an open house type thing about 2 years ago and sat through a talk about the acupuncture classes... which is what got me interested in doing acupuncture. Even though I've had acupuncture treatments many times before, it was kind of an "a ha, I could do this" moment for me. Ended up buying some needles and a book at the shop there to practice with, though I haven't touched them in a while. I'll probably end up at Bastyr myself in a couple years smile
Well, good luck with your orange wine and have fun skiing.
basketcase:
That sucks, sorry 'bout that.
I can imagine I'll like the community too when I go. My kind of people smile They've got a Naturopathic Midwifery program, so I'll probably be doing that.
basketcase:
Oh goodness. Maybe I'll just stick with simple midwifery shocked
basketcase:
Yup, you're right. I checked... I really should read up on thing better before I say I'll do them lol
thursday:

i've been eating satsumas like a motherfucker...
