ocuinneagain:
thank you for the bow wow wow flashback - my head is still wobbling...

remember when that song came out, the music industry (labels and a&r types, anyway) were all against cassette tapes? they said tapes were the doom of the industry, that all the labels were going to go under and bands were going to die off because people were going to start taping everything off the radio and stop buying albums? did record sales die? noooo. did labels and bands lose money? nooo. did labels and bands continue making more and more money? yeeees.

now it's the same thing again, only the cassettes of the new millenium were things like napster and kazaa. again, did the industry suffer? nooo. people are still going to buy the music, only now we can be a lot more selective about it. now we can download (labels, please note that we're still paying for it) only the songs we want. we don't have to buy antire album for the one good song and 11 more that are crap. now songwriters and labels are going to be forced to publish good music, or we won't buy it.

granted, elvis costello could belch into a kazoo and i'd still buy it.

Was that the Hennepin County Doctor? (that bitchslapped Hannity?) That one was awesome--"How can you be so stupid?!"

So satisfying to hear him say after reading about it in the blogs

I am, but I'm also ridiculously backlit. Spent the morning having my mouth worked over. Word to the wise: regular dentist visits = good.
