We join spokes together in a wheel,
but it is the center hole
that makes the wagon move.
We shape clay into a pot,
but it is the emptiness inside
that holds whatever we want.
We hammer wood for a house,
but it is the inner space
that makes it livable.
We work with being,
but non-being is what we use.

The more I read the Tao Te Ching, the more I think about my outlook on life...and how I've had it all wrong.
Seth has it right man. Giving up before anything even goes into effect.
No more asking people what I should do. I am going to go by gut instinct from now on. I will play everything by ear, and let the chips fall as they may. I'm going to do all those cliche old sayings. (Haha)
I always look to everyone else for approval in whatever I do...
and the only person I should need approval from is myself.
I know what people think I should do. People tell me daily what THEY think I should do.
They tell me how I should live MY life.
I understand they care about my well being, but I need to live MY life, and if I make mistakes along the way, I need to expirience them.
Yes, getting a dog may be a bad idea to some, but if I want to do it, I will.
If I want to wait until I'm 35 to drive (which I don't) I will. The point is, it's my life. My expiriences.
If someone asks for advice on something, I tell them what I think they should do, but I tell them 'hey, it's your life."
I don't force it down their throat. I don't hop on their back with a whip and say "mush! go here, do this."
People are going to make mistakes...
That's life.
Time to start living it.
I leave you with lyrics from a country song I really like. That's right. I like country songs.

"Live Like You Were Dyin'"
He said I was in my early 40's,
With a lot of life before me,
And a moment came that stopped me on a dime.
I spent most of the next days, lookin' at the x-rays,
Talkin' 'bout the options and talkin' 'bout sweet time.
Asked him when it sank in, that this might really be the real end.
How's it hit ya, when you get that kind of news.
Man what ya do.
And he says,
[Chorus]
I went sky divin',
I went rocky mountain climbin',
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull name Fumanchu.
And I loved deeper,
And I spoke sweeter,
And I gave forgiveness I've been denying,
And he said someday I hope you get the chance,
To live like you were dyin'.
He said I was finally the husband,
That most the time I wasn't.
And I became a friend a friend would like to have.
And all the sudden goin' fishing,
Wasn't such an imposition.
And I went three times that year I lost my dad.
Well I finally read the good book,
And I took a good long hard look at what I'd do
If I could do it all again.
And then.
[Chorus]
Like tomorrow was a gift and you've got eternity
To think about what you do with it,
What could you do with it, what can
I do with with it, what would I do with it.
[Chorus]
Sky divin',
I went rocky mountain climbin',
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull name Fumanchu.
And I loved deeper,
And I spoke sweeter,
And I watched an eagle as it was flyin'.
And he said someday I hope you get the chance,
To live like you were dyin'.
To live like you were dyin'.
To live like you were dyin'.
To live like you were dyin'.
To live like you were dyin'.
