Gladly. I may be here longer than I thought anyway. I was supposed to be gone days ago. Even if I do leave I will probably come back eventually.
There is an old lady I always see downtown. She must be about 80. She has jet black died hair, a ton of make up and always smells very strongly of baby powder and cheap perfume. Sometimes you see clumps of make up & powder fall off of her face or out of her clothes.
So weird and so gross.
I was so afraid I was going to spell etymological wrong.
That was awesome.
I hope you don't think I'm a repressive or closed-minded person about that stuff at all, I was mostly playing devil's advocate and arguing for the sake of having an intelligent (albiet slightly drunk and silly) conversation about the subject.
I can't ever claim to really know what the entire problem is like from your perspective, and that's a big part of why men and women can have such a hard time truly conducting themselves like equals with each other.
I'll never really be able to say or feel any strong blanket statement about the issue, except that there obviously should be more of an equality in the professional world and all other aspects of the way we interact with each other. I can do nothing but agree with you that we are very very far from that, and should continue to work towards it from both sides.
It's a complicated and personal discussion which is far from being resolved and addressed openly in our society, even in it's most open-minded and intelligent regions. I hope I didn't look to come off believing too adamantly in one viewpoint on it, because my feelings on anything like this are always many-sided.
You are clearly someone I like and respect and I want to make sure it's clear that I'm not treating you or anyone else in a way that would indicate otherwise.
It was fun and interesting discussing the issue with you, and even more great to meet and become friends with you. I really enjoyed meeting you guys, and look forward to talking more.
-Thanks a ton for the chance to make friends.
