Christ on crutches. My whole fuckng face feels funny. I went to the dentist today for my bi-yearly cleaning. I've been really proud of myself, because I've kept a better brushing schedule. I'd bought a new toothbrush that had been getting all those damn "hard to reach" areas. All in all I was expecting booming praise from my hygenist, Toni, whom I absolutely adore.

I should have known to run when I walked in. First off, the usual receptionist was gone! Misplaced! Moved to a new town! Scandal! And then, a hygenist comes out, but it's not Toni. Instead, it's Danni, Toni's twin sister! I'm not shitting you either, they're twins, either that or I've been reading too much Hunter. S. Well, she looks at my top teeth and tells me how great they are.. And then she looks at my bottom teeth and the gloves come off. We're talking hard core sadism here (not that I don't appreciate the work, I do, she did a great job). She had to sharpen her "instrument" twice. She had to numb my whole face to get the grisly work done. There was blood everywhere. Horrible, nasty. The real bitch is now they put me on prescription strength mouthwash/toothpaste. I also have to come in every four months for cleanings AND go in next month for three fillings. Fucking teeth, the harder you try to keep them clean and healthy, the more they just go bad.

I did leave work early to make up for it though. I just can't handle having a numb face in public. It's a beautiful day though, lots of birds and happy stuff going on. Pirate tonight, always a pleasure. I hope my face clears up before it's time. There's bruising and shit.
