I'm long overdue for a new blog so I thought I'd throw something quick up for now. One of these days I'll put together a proper update. While I've been MIA it seems like there has been a lot of developments with the site that I'll need to catch up on too.

Speaking of the site I had the chance to meet Pumpkin, one of my long-time fave SGs, back in May. She was in town for a few days so we got together at the Silver Snail for some tea and conversation. It was great to finally meet her and hang out for a bit. She shot several sets while in town so if any local SGs are in need of a photographer definitely give her a shout.

I never thought to get a picture of us together so here's a pic of me and Alison Brie (Community, Mad Men) at Pride instead.

On a less positive note I recently had the misfortune of catching the new Will.i.am video on MuchMusic. The song features Justin Beiber so it is as bad as you'd expect. The choreography in the video is actually pretty interesting though - mainly because it rips off the group World Order.

World Order is not all that well known here but they're a Japanese act created by former MMA fighter Genki Sudo. They've put out a couple of albums over the last few years but they're probably best known for their robotic dance moves. I wouldn't say I'm a big dance fan necessarily but their music videos are definitely fascinating.

Not only does Will.i.am steal their signature moves but he does a poor imitation of them too. Ridiculous.

FYI World Order's videos tend to start out a little slow but the endings always blow me away with their inventiveness.

Not too long ago I discovered the group BabyMetal, also from Japan, and after listening to their first single I thought it was catchy but kinda ridiculous. Somehow I couldn't stop listening though. The tracks they've released since have been all over the place (combining nu-metal, techno, thrash, j-pop, power metal...) but it all works surprisingly well. Only in Japan could they make something this strange and wonderful.

Fan Expo is less than two weeks away which makes me realize I never blogged about last year. For now all I'll say is that once again the crowding was out of hand unfortunately. I'd like to think that this year will be better with both North and South buildings in use for the first time but mostly I have a bad feeling (don't even get me started on the whole sports thing). I'm concerned that making the show larger is only going to make it more disorganized than it already is. I guess I should give Hobbystar the benefit of the doubt but after witnessing a whole lot of questionable decisions over the past 19 years I'm not gonna get my hopes up. Time will tell. The schedule is released tomorrow by the way.

Well this blog wasn't so quick after all. I should really check in more often I guess. I'll leave you with my new theme tune anyway. It's not actually all that new but if you haven't seen the video before give it a look. YOLO!

Indeed; there are some interesting stories about that trip.  :)   I hope that you're well - it seems like forever since I've seen you, even though it really hasn't been that long...

Yeah, I know I just have to be persistent and keep trying, what I would love to do is actually dialogue edit. And yeah, I watch a lot of movies, at least 3/4 of those I saw in theatres.
