Best cheese fries are found where? Very excellent question.
I will start by saying I believe the actual best cheese fries are found at 2125 S. 11th Street Chesterton, Indiana... in Chesterton High School's cafeteria. Since those cheese fries cannot be purchased and consumed by regular civilians, I will go with... hmmm...
There is a drive-in restaurant by the name of FrosTop, that has excellent cheese fries but the fries are a bit thick, and don't allow for the taste of the cheese to take center stage.
I also enjoy A&W Root Beer Stands' cheese fries, but if you don't ask for the cheese on the side, they put a gallon on, and that's never good. Flaccid fries = less than perfect cheese fries.
I make cheese fries at home, but my Fry Daddy doesn't work so well any more and the cheese is nothing but canned bulk cheese from the local Wal*Mart. Definetely bottom of the barrel.
Arby's, Burger King, Dairy Queen all serve cheese fries, stay away from fast food cheese fries posting as real cheese fries.
Now, to answer your question... the best cheese fries are found at a restaurant called Coaster's... unfortunately for us all... this restaurant is located inside Sandusky Ohio's own amusement park... Cedar Point. America's Roller Coast. (Thank you and enjoy your day here at Cedar Point, America's Roller Coast.) If you're willing to pay the 50 dollars or so to get inside the park just to try the cheese fries, you will be my hero forever...
So, if you're like me, and you consider yourself and officianado (sp?) of french fries with cheese sauce on top... please... opinions? I'd like to hear someone try and argue with me about cheese fries. In fact, I look forward to it.
I have been to Cedar Point and I have been to Coaster's and I have eaten their cheesy fries. But its been over a year... I miss Ohio sometimes. The Marine Corps has taken me far from my home.
you are pretty adorablicious yourself. you're a hoosier too, i assume? hoosiers are totally representin on sg..
as for cheese fries, my favorite are at king's island by the entrace to the beast. huge, thich fries with a big cup of cheese (and if you're slightly off-kilter like me, vinegar). yay for cholesterol.
