Sadly the movers and shakers are so "exhalted" that they cannot comprehend the struggles that our citizens deal with everyday.
And in the meantime - we have big business taking advantage of the economic climate to roll back benefits and compensation of their employees - which creates yet another downward spiraling. So the average working stiff has a pretty bleak outlook.
Less pay means they will be paying less taxes. So the government will have to raise more taxes and lay off more workers, and those who are employed will be working harder for less money and be paying more taxes. It's a squeeze.
I know that there are a lot of people right now that would rather be working at any job instead of collecting unemployment - those are not the people I have a problem with. It's the able-bodied people who could work, and aren't even looking because with the current government handouts they can cruise.
I know of people who have been desperately looking for work since November who still haven't received their unemployment benefits. Right now they are doing odd jobs on craigslist to survive.
While others I know who are simply lazy, that are fraudulently collecting benefits and are spending that money on frivolities.
she's a little cutie that dog, if only we all live like you do, that's my dream to be able to do all those things that you talk about
those stories are so much better then Greek and Roman stories, The Norse had compassion and they weren't those scary big vikings... glad you like them
ok this is my third attempt to write on your blog. SG is not being friendly to e today. sigh
I think you can do whatever makes you happy... and it will NEVER be selfish..
My ex gf looked like Alexis when she was in Sin City. She used to sign autographs. lol I always felt like she was out of my league until one night she smacked me, I wasnt havin it and I broke her nose. LOL Out of MY league. psh whatever!
Actually, from what you had posted - I was off the opinion that you were retired. Anyone who can talk about creating a self sustaining philanthropy is not on the government dole. And if you were living on social security, or legitimately on disability - you paid into it it's your due. Anyone who'e saved enough after living and taxes to retire early - Kudo's to you! You've earned my respect.
You've earned the right to live as you please - that's not selfish.
Your right about being scared for so many others. The sad thing is that the people who know how to cheat the system - so they can sit on their asses or play - are robbing from those who really want to work and support their families. There's only so much to go around. So as we squander our resources on the lazy ones - the responsible ones get left out in the cold - and are at risk of losing everything they've worked for. i worry about them. And I worry about our children who will have the pay back the debts that we collectively are leaving them.
Well from when I parked my last Bike until I could
get this one [last April] 20 years raced by. And alot
of that was spent thinking: next year I'll be able to swing
it. If I had postphoned it until this Spring, guess what,
again it would have been 'No Go'.
Last Aug we went to Saratoga Springs to see Bob Weir
with the Almond Bros Band. The intention had been to
make a Bike trip of it, She got an infected spider bite with
the antibiotic makeing her photo-sensitive, so car. Plans
fall apart so ''Carpe Scrotum: and their Hearts and Minds
are sure to follow''.
I'm certain that your path will still allow you to be meaningful.
