I don't feel deprived either - I'm glad that I earned what I have.
I'll never be one of those spoiled mall-rats whose main source of entertainment is cruising the malls and having to buy things to be happy. You know, the people who when they have a few coins in their pockets just have to spend them on frivilous things. Those people are NEVER satisfied. You can never buy them enough - they will ALWAYS want more. (To the detriment of their and their family's financial stability.) Of course these are the same people who are first in line for government handouts.
To be honest - it's been over a year since I even visited a mall - and it was to buy a present for someone else.
The things you say to me touch me deeply. You have a way with words. Your sincerity shines through as well. I'm blessed to know that people think of me in such a beautiful way. Aother example of what I'm talking about, in addition to the things you say to me is Sherrillee's comments about me on Geezers in the "say something " thread. I saw it just a few minutes ago. I was really touched by it. You'll know why if you read it. It was posted very recently, so it shouldn't be hard to find. As far as I'm concerned, that's something that can't be measured.
Bryant Park conjures up wonderful memories. One of the things I loved most was when Lyrical and I used to sit and talk by the tables and chairs near the corner of 42nd & Sixth for what seemed like short periods of time, but mostly went on for hours. We would wind up talking about anything and everything once we got going. Those are the kinds of experiences with her that I cherish most.
The program I'm in is goping pretty well. I'm not beating around the bush wen it comes to speaking frankly with my case manager regarding my immediate needs.
The weather should be good for the weekend. I'll try to get out and about. I'm sure you'll do the same.
The shame of it was ya couldn't see All of the cats at once.
Is anyone surprised that the Rich get RICHER, and we get
bilge water.
Life it's better than the Alternative.
So the 'kindle' is a good option?
Bryant Park was never a big deal to me before last year. I used to wait for the express bus right in front of the park, but never felt any desire to explore it in the past. I enjoyed being in the company of Lyrical so much, it wouldn't have mattered where we hung out. I know that sounds pretty sappy, but the truth is the truth.
Have a great weekend. I'm seeing my daughter tomorrrow afternoon. We both love sushi. There's a place near her house that sells sushi at a very reasonable price. I've had it from there before. It's actually very good.
I'll probably be talking to my friend Lizabeth this weekend. She is such a wonderful and amazing person. I wish we lived closer to each other. We would surely be close friends in everyday life.
lol that's funny i'm glad you did it ... only one other person did it ... I thought it was fun. Some person told me I should take all my blogs and publish them...lol I think I might do that
Well now that I'm use to reading stuff on this screen,
maybe the 'kindle' won't seem so strange. I'll keep it
in mind for when I'm more flush.
Hearing lots of wood ducks in the swamp. A few weeks
back I saw a fox walking along the tree line. The bird-feeders
are seeing lots of visitors.
Finally! Going down to Hampton NH to rescue my Bike
from storage, in the morning.
Like you - even at my age - I have survived some near death expereinces, and overcome some disabilities.
I wouldn't have changed a thing - since it's these experiences that have made me what I am today....
