cece:
oh man, how did i miss that?! i just saved that image to my desktop. beautiful.

one of my friends who is indifferent to nada surf had called, knowing i'm a nada surf fan, called to tell me he had picked up the album on a whim and thought it was amazing. i had forgotten a new album was coming out (although i've been ramping up to see them live again soon). and i must say, i like "let go" a lot more, but that's a tough album to beat in my opinion. it seems like they have had a lot of amazing life experiences recently and come to terms with a lot of realities. for example, i'm bouncing around to a song that has a chorus, "to find someone you love, you have to be someone you love" which is a vast contrast to previous choruses like, "i wanna know what it's like on the inside of love." i'd be interested in knowing what everyone has been through, who they have loved. clearly something is going right. i have a feeling this is one of those albums that will grow on me more and more as i listen to it. i look forward to seeing the songs live. usually i like a song a lot more once i've heard it played live; i think you can see the connection between the artist and the song when they're in front of you, playing it with all their heart.
