I remember seeing Iron Chef Morimoto making tempura lobster sushi in one of his showdowns with Bobby Flay back in the day and thinking it looked so amazing. I’ve since had tempura sushi (sadly, not from Morimoto, but what can you do?) and it’s been amazing every time.
It's immensely gratifying to read your take on this. Some years ago I joined Eharmony in hopes of meeting the love of my life and was dismayed to see that the vast majority of the profiles were interchangeable, consisting of the essentially meaningless cliches you mentioned. I mean, how much do you really learn about someone by discovering that they love their families and dearest friends while being grateful for their health, their families and dearest friends? As for the ones who confess to loving their dogs, well, I'm partial to giraffes and we can just leave it there. 😉 (If I find yet another awkward phrase in this, I swear I'm just going to leave it.)
@jozsef I agree. Years ago I was on Tinder, Match, and Facebook dating, and I was endless frustrated by the cookie-cutter profiles. Like they were copied and pasted. “I’m a simple woman. My kids and dog come first. I love my coffee in the morning, wine in the evening. My happy place is on the water and I love to travel.” Meanwhile, I was trying to reflect my personality in 500 characters and struggling.
Oh man, food. My favorite topic. I agree with beets. I’m not a vegetable person, but I’m a good boy and still eat my veggies. But beets, I can’t even stand the smell. My favorite part of traveling is trying all the food. I’ve discovered I love Turkish food!!!
@inkedodie my favourite part of travelling is also the food. Coincidentally, food is also my favourite part of staying home. Lol. I’m going to have to explore more Turkish food now. 😉
@fredhincanada I’ve spent a lot of time over the last 10 years in southern Germany, and there are a lot of Turkish immigrants. So, a lot of good authentic Turkish food.
