yeah no I was just so slammed with moving that I packed all the painting stuff in my car seperately and moved it. now that I'm moved in, I can frame them and get em on the road northward.

Your maid of honor should be the one hosting your bridal shower, with assistance from the bridesmaids. That's the traditional part, as I understand it. If they're not organizing it, just say you feel weird about it being done differently.

While guys sometimes may attend such things, I think it's just weird. I would not be such a guy to attend them. Unless it was my bride, and then I might consider it, out of respect for the people attending.

Weddings are fun - I can understand the reluctance of inviting friends or coworkers...you don't want them bored, or causing a ruckus.

The upside for you, is that your family gets to see a more complete picture of you, from a reflection of the people you have chosen to surround you. (IE, if you don't invite friends, they'll think you don't have any or that you're ashamed of them. If you don't invite coworkers, they think you don't like your job or its a source of embarassment.)

Really, it's a lose-lose situation. whatever
