Friday was the best night of my life!! Break it down:
5:25: Get in line for the NY Dolls signing. Hangout with Pat-a Bowie lovin', make up wearin', mohawk tootin' freak! It's basically me, my friend Vic, our friends Adrian and Eddie and 40 other people in line.
7:00-ish: We finally get in to see the band and there's maybe like 200-300 people? Something small like that and my friend Eddie is literlly making me get in the front row which I was worried about 'cuz I got so squished at a Skinny Puppy concert years ago but hallo only 200 people, I figured I'd be ok.
7:30 ish: Pat didn't charge the battery on his video camera so he gives me his disposable to use and I gave him my digital. It has video too so everything is all good.
7:30 ish: The NY Dolls mother fuckas! Of course David walks on stage through a back entrance but Sylvain comes through the front, literlly like 2 feet from me. Fox 11 news was there and I'll get to that in a bit.
Later my card on my camera is FULL, wtf. I thought the battery was gonna' go out befor the card. Darn you Bush! When in doubt blame it on the president!! So I pretty much recorded all the new stuff that they played and only got 1/2 of 'lookin' for a kiss" my favorite song btw!! Ugh! I did get some things from the stage though, a broken pink balloon and a feather from one of the pink boas and a cup from Steve (bass, guitar, anyone?) that smelled strong of booze.
8:00 ish: We all get cattled out of the store and have to get back in line outside to wait for the signing.
9:30 ish: We finally get back in to the store to get stuff signed and by that time I have to pee so badly!! We had been drinkin' in line since 5:30 so it's finally taking it's toll on us.
I took an ipod case to give to Sylvain Sylvain (one of the original dolls members) and so when we got up there I gave 'em my new cd to sign and some bootleg shit for my friend Eddie (which was so embarassing 'cuz Sylvain was like "am I getting royalties for this?") and I held onto the ipod case till the end. here's where it gets interesting: David Johansen seemed very distracted but I did get to shake his hand (hallo, I got to touch David Johansen!!) and then I gave the ipod case to Sylvain, and I can't quote what he said exactly ('cuz like I said I had been drinking since 5:30) but it went something like this:
Me: "Hi Sylvain, I made this for you"
S: (shocked look on face): This is for me?
Me: yeah
S: Omg, come here....and then he gets up and hugs me and kisses me on the cheek.
Me: Do you have an ipod
S: No, but I'm gonna' get one now!, what made you do this?
Me: 'Cuz I love you guys!
It was so cool, he was genuinely excited/happy that I gave it to him. Everyone probably gives shit to David and let's face it, he's a diva so since I love Sylvain too, I gave it to him.
The night couldn't have been any better until I got home around 1:00 and turned on the news and saw who other than "the NY Dolls" and ME in the audience. I remember during one of the songs that the camera was right in front of me so I figured my chances of getting on tv were pretty good.

haha. it was so funny 'cuz there was a few hanoi rocks fans there and vic and I came up with this saying, "your so hanoi-ing' and trust me after 6 house saying 'your so hanoing' got very annyoning.
