Wow, looks like some cool movies. I'm only a beginner Dolls fan, though. I would really recommend reading that Salinger book (Franny and Zooey), it's a real interesting read. I read it in college a few semesters back. biggrin
Yeah, having crappy sinuses and drinking is always a bad idea. But my thing was self-inflicted, so I've got no one to blame but the man in the mirror. wink
Oh crap, i see The Blues Brothers up there as a favorite movie. I can't help myself:

- Are you the police?
- No 'mam, we're musicians
biggrin

I can literally quote entire scenes from the movie. I actually have a bad habit of throwing lines out there randomly, just to see how people react: "Sell them to me, sell my your children!!!." wink
take care smile

we gotta be friends. I'll be your groupie or whatever. "chickenwire?" tongue

ckdexterhaven:
Me too! I have the soundtrack and this other compilation thing. The soundtrack is just a great album, by any music standard. Belushi was great with that material, and the backing band was superb. Guys like Steve Cropper and Donald "Duck" Dunn of Booker T fame were some talented musicians. I have this one Neil Young dvd titled "Red Rocks Live" and Dunn plays bass on it. If you look close you can see this little sketch of the Blues Brothers on his bass guitar. It's that sketch from that one scene in the bathroom where the "Good Ole Boys" read that the Blues Brother are playing at the gig. That movie always brings a smile whenever I see it. smile
ckdexterhaven:
No one mooned the crowd at my graduation. People were to buttoned up where I went to high school. Although, a few did "shake dat ass" as the kids say. biggrin
Which Blues Brothers dance were you talking about? I love the "I've seen the light" routine in that church. biggrin

Powell in my life! wink

ckdexterhaven:
you know, Colin Powell. used to be Secretary of State. army guy. Ring a bell?

biggrin
ckdexterhaven:
I think he's half black and half white, but I could be wrong on that one. He seems like a pretty cool guy, sorta. biggrin
ckdexterhaven:
hey, i'm doing pretty good. Just doing the lazy thing for the most part this weekend. Which is always a good thing. At least for me it is. biggrin
It's cool that you got to meet your friend again. I actually just got in touch with some friends I knew from high school that I hadn't talked to for a long long time. Oh yeah, my world revolves around food as well, to a certain extent. I haven't been eating a lot lately because I've been kinda sick, but usually i'm a pasta fiend. I think when I was a kid and they showed me that food pyramid thingy, I got it backwards. Because sugar usually get's the lion's share of my daily food servings. Oh well, I guess I'm young and dumb right? tongue
cest_la_mae:
I just heard that NY Dolls will be on Henry Rollins this Thursday (I think).
shocked
Check you local listings.
ckdexterhaven:
Oh, I'm completely the same way. Breakfest is usually a carb-fest for me. I guess tt's sorta like choosing between the lesser of two evils: Fat and Cholesterol or Sugar/Carbs. I'll go with sugar 99% of the time. Ice Cream? Now you're talking. biggrin
