Saturday found me lounging around Lincoln Square in Chicago at the Olde Town School Of Folk Music Folk and Roots Festival. Anni, her friends and I had a picnic with wine, cheese, cherries, jicama salad, duck roulette, vegetable roulette, and beer mixed with lemonade. From 2-7 in the shade of a tree. It was gorgeous and all were in great spirits.
Then I was off to Lee's bachelor party. We all met at Tokio Marina, this quaint but quite good sushi joint in Andersonville. There were a total of 6 guys, some nerdy and farely stiff, so I ordered 2 bottles of cold Sake to get this fucking thing started off right. We gobbled and left for the Hop Leaf, great bar for some beers, some laughs, we ended up telling a lot of embarrassing stories about ourselves, don't you love male bondage...I mean bonding? Then to another place for drinks where the boys were losing steam, so we powered up with Jameson, then off to Carroll's for country music and dancing. That was a blast. Getting hit on by a whole new demographic. Then to round out the evening we made our way to a Karoake bar until the sun came up.
The next day I woke up at 11 and tried to get my shit together. Showered up and headed to a White Sox game way on the SouthSide. I've never been to a major league game so I was really excited. My buddies are huge Sox fans, I'm mainly a basketball fan, but being at the park was a lot of fun and the game went into extra innings, but the Sox lost by a run in the end. Went back to Ito's place, grabbed some excellent Mexican and drove the 2.5 hours back to Champaign where I commenced to falling asleep.
Such a great weekend. I love all those guys up there. I need to get the fuz out of central illinois!
