One Night Stands v Fuck Buddies
OK - something said elsewhere has got me thinking. What is better, a one night stand or a fuck buddy?
For me, a one night stand rarely does much in terms of satisfying any needs I have. OK, you go out, you meet someone, you are both up for a bit of fun. You go and have sex and you go on your merry way. All good, except for me, it leaves me a little let down. The sex is often nothing special. You don't know the person well enough to really understand what they like. You can easily tell them but you know time is limited. And then you leave.
I suppose with one night stands it is the complete lack of knowing the person that I don't like. For people who do enjoy it, I can see that the not knowing could be the one thing they do want,
Then there are fuck buddies, To my mind, these are people who you are friends with, who you know and like and have a great time with but you don't want a relationship. Someone you trust. Someone you can laugh with. Someone you can be open with without worrying it is being taken the wrong way. Someone you can be honest with at all times
These are the people you can have sex with and it is great. You can explore your wants and needs without worrying if the person will have feelings beyond the friendship. People you can just, well, have sex with when you want so it is not hurried and fumbled and unsatisfying.
Different people want different things. Some want the no names, no information, fuck and go thing, Others wants the friend that you happen to shag on occasion. Some have a bit of both and none of it is wrong. You have to know your wants and know where your lines are and know what is OK for you,
So, for me it is the fuck buddy rather than one night stand thing. I enjoy the friendship side. I like being able to trust the person because I know them. I like that I can know what they love and they know what I love. I like the set up of a fuck buddy.
People say it doesn't work as one of you will become emotionally attached to a greater degree than a fuck buddy relationship should allow. I am sure that that can be a problem. However that is not something I have experienced so maybe I am just lucky!
One night stands just generally leave me a little dis-satisfied. Like when you eat a Chinese and half an hour later you feel hungry again. I have never found that with a fuck buddy,

all i can say is a marilyn manson lyric- "use me like i was a whore relationships are such a bore delete the ones that you fuck" although i am in a relationship but if i wasnt i would just be a total slag!
