Well, I do actually microwave it because it takes too long and makes too much mess any other way. Even though I still hate the microwave and I have an inherent fear of anything cooked in it
Basically, I add less milk than the directions suggest, mix the dry porridge with the milk with a spoonful of brown sugar or maple syrup. I microwave it for 50 seconds, stir. And then for another 50 seconds. Let it stand for a minute or two (I like it SUPER THICK) and then pour some cold, fresh milk on the top
You should try financial hibernation. i.e. no going out, no drinking, no smoking, no alcohol, no street women. Beans on toast day in and day out. Hope you figure it out dude!
