I was involved in commercial real estate sales in Los Angeles for a few years , and can still remember a training session where we were told :
If you think you can , you can.
If you think you can't , you can't.
This was pointing to individual salesmen who have preconceived thoughts regarding a particular property. One would think it was an overpriced dog and could not be sold and wouldn't waist his time trying to sell it , while another believed he could sell it and would.
It was a tough business ,and I wasn't very good at it, so I went back to engineering.
Yes, success isn't something that just falls into your lap. Even Paris HIlton had to get out of bed to do some of the things she's "accomplished." Work hard, play hard...that's one of my mottos.
