Have you ever had one thing make you think of something else that you thought you were over, just to realize you're still hurting just as much as ever?

My dog Marley passed away in May of this year and not a day goes by that I don't miss her with all my heart. She was an amazing Jack Russell Terrier....cute as...

I'm excited to get to move into a new home, but moving is always such a pain in the ass! The work seems to be never ending...especially when you take breaks to surf the web and smoke pot. But the point is, hopefully the work will be over soon and I can sit back and relax for a while.

I feel like there...

In all seriousness, I've been a serial monogamist my entire life. My wife of 8 years recently told me that she feels that it's unfair that I've always given her everything she's ever wanted or needed, but she is unable to adequately provide for my sexual needs. I want sex 3 times a day and she has basically no interest in...

my husband says that women don't believe him.   it's way easier for them to believe he's a cheater than the truth.   it's so hard because most of the world is looking for their one and only.   You could try to see if there are any local polyamory groups that get together for socials or something, and then at least you would know they have the same ideals as you.
floydian:
Thanks for the advice. You are certainly correct @chefbeth, it's probably easier to lie and say I'm a cheater! ;)  Hopefully everything works out as it should! It's just all so new, I feel clueless for sure.

I have loved SG for years. Everything it stands for and everyone I've made genuine connections with on this site and in real life. It has all had a positive impact on my life and for that I will be forever grateful. @amanita @darke @bza @dk and so many other people (most of which are unfortunately no longer on the site)....all of you...

it seems like just yesterday i signed up for SG, but it's been 10 years, which makes me feel much older than i actually feel in my own mind. when i first joined, it was a much smaller community, with an almost anonymous type friends list that just showed names and not photos. a time when a witty name was a better conversation starter...

I have done research, and it's been suggested to me by my Psychologist and even my very non-420 friendly husband, however I don't drink and I don't take pain killers except when I absolutely have to. Legality aside, when I was a teenager and smoked it recreationally here and there it didn't have any positive effects so I stopped doing it. I didn't see the point. It simply made me feel sick.

I do not like medication or herbal remedies or anything other than being mindful of my nutrition and hydration.

Don't assume that because someone is not willing to try something that she considers morally questionable on many levels is because she hasn't done the reading. I don't just have migraines, I have a long-term, continuous headache that has migraine like symptoms. Smoking pot won't touch the pain I'm in, nor make me employable in the future or allow me to return to my current career. It's not an option for me. I respect that it works well for other people, however, and encourage people to do whatever it takes to deal with migraines and other headache types and the comorbid conditions that arise from these disorders.

But, personally, I don't take illegal substances... and if they legalized it, I still wouldn't take it because I don't take mood or mind altering substances unless a doctor or my body tell me it's necessary. smile

I know it! And I appreciate it! I just didn't want you to think I was being narrow-minded.

I'll suck a giant demon dick if it will make my head feel better, yo.

If you're considering sleep aids get an actual sleep aid medication. The stuff I'm on is just to counteract a whole bunch of awful side effects other medications I'm on have. I'm on medical leave from work and full time bedrest. Klonopin just keeps me from waking up when my pain gets bad.

Try something over the counter first.

The best suggestions I have for sleeplessness (as a lifelong Insomniac):

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

No caffeine after noon (or at all if you can do it.)
Don't watch TV or use the internet right before bed. All electronics off at least 45 min before you're ready to get into bed.
If you don't fall to sleep within twenty or so minutes of being in bed, get up and go into another room, read or draw... something calming. TV/Internet overstimulates your brain.
Try listening to music, white noise, or binaural beats (search Youtube for the latter)
Don't exercise before bed, but try to do some physical activity daily.
Keep your bedroom as dark as you can stand it.
Take a warm bath or shower before bed to relax you.

Thanks for the support on my set! Very sweet.

I used to have trouble sleeping so I'd take melatonin. It allowed me to fall into a deep sleep. I suggest trying it. I also wake up early now so by midnight I'm normally pretty exhausted haha.

unfortunately, instead of getting better, i've been getting worse. i have an intense headache and congestion, which doesn't sound too bad, but it feels awful. i've almost fallen over a few times today, just from standing up. i've been trying to take it easy, but sometimes i forget to do that when i'm sick. the worst part is, i had...
