Wow, I remember when you got "The Woods" and you were, like, having an orgasm every 10 minutes. How things change. But sounds like you managed to enjoy it despite your snobbery.
Okay, given I saw them a month ago, are they less Woods heavy now live? I don't mind, but I'd love an equal split in new vs classic. I think I like The Woods more than you: as well as Modern Girl, Jumpers, there's The Fox, and Nightlight. Some aren't too memorable, but one of the better albums of the year by a way.
What may annoy you was the London setlist was "Setlist: The Fox, Wilderness, Rollercoaster, One Beat, Jumpers, Oh!, Far Away, Modern Girl, What's Mine is Yours, Let's Call it Love, Entertain. Encore 1: One More Hour, I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone, Words & Guitar. Encore 2: Dig Me Out". It was beautiful. You seeing them again this year?
We had The Research as our opening act. Check the "I love you.. but" track on the homepage. A bit eclectic, but from my HOMETOWN. Which has only give the world the "birdie song" previously.
Nothing wrong with either of those in your head. Good times.
You know, I never listend to any of Sleater Kinney's albums. I imagine I should sometime.
Opening bands? You don't know the meaning of pain until you've seen the Magic markers. I still have nightmares about a bass being slapped with a pearl necklace for 10 minutes. I'm going to lie (lay?) down.
Oh, it's the greatest thrill ever. There is nothing that compares to playoff baseball (and football). And you're in Chicago, too. You could actually see some of these games. I'm so incredibly jealous.
I've probably only listened to the entire album (The Woods) about ten times. But for me it remains extremely tight. Out of curiousity, what are your major gripes?
