My e-mail problems seem to have been sorted out, but it appears that they ordered the wrong computer.
I had my new machine for a couple of hours, took it out of its generic eMac box, hooked it up, set up my connection preferences and so forth, trouble-shot my e-mail accounts for a few hours, and was ready to go to bed. But then I thought I'd see what the dvd player was like. So I popped in the dvd I bought yesterday--my very first dvd (a copy of Aranofsky's "Pi"), and guess what?
NO FUCKING DVD PLAYER. THE SONS OF BITCHES HAD ORDERED AND CONSEQUENTLY GIVEN ME THE WRONG COMPUTER, THE ONE W/ THE JUST THE CD-RW DRIVE INSTEAD OF THE DVD/CD-RW COMBO DRIVE.
AND NOW, DESPITE HAVE GIVEN ME THE WRONG COMPUTER, THEY SAY THAT BECAUSE I OPENED THE BOX (WHICH HAD NOTHING ON THE OUTSIDE INDICATING THE SPECS OF THE COMPUTER) THEY PROBABLY CAN'T TAKE IT BACK, AND THEY WON'T GIVE ME THE ONE I ORDERED IF THEY CAN'T TAKE THIS ONE BACK.
