There is something in the instruction booklet that tells you about that - what to do if you lose them. I don't have mine anymore and I can't remember the page number... so maybe I'm not much help. But look on the IRS webpage or in your book. I swear it says there somewhere...

1. Get in touch with someone from you place(s) of employment.

2. Ask them to contact the payroll/human resources department of thier HQ, and to have them send you your W-2 forms again.

3. Once recieved, hurry and get your taxes done, as you only have three weeks from now to do so before the cut-off date.

well even if you dont get it back in time. you wont be in any trouble, if that all you made you dont have to file anyway. but you will lose whatever it is they would give back.

How much does a student have to make before he or she has to file an income tax return?

If you are an unmarried dependent, you must file a tax return for 2004 if you have earned income of more than $4,850, unearned income of more than $800, or if your gross income is more than $800 and exceeds your earned income by more than $250. If part of your earned income is from tips, see Tax Topic 402, Tips
this is what i got from the website. im assuming you are a student. might help you out.
