Last night I won but lost the weekly poker game. Read the guy perfectly and when he threw his cards down he was sure he had lost to my straight...whoops...is that a pair in his and to go with the 3 of a kind he thought was all he had...i guess he did win. Cant argue...i won to of the last 4 weeks so no big deal. Not a ton of money, and he paid for the beer when we went to the bar afterwards. Funny to learn that poker is one of my talents at least...always been good at reading people and judging what they are trying to hide...buyer beware...
Joy of California... passed my smog yesterday...after they skipped the first run through and let my truck warm up a touch more...least i got it clean for another 2 years. Probably sell her by then but i could register and not worry about getting a ticket tomorrow when my plates would have expired. Now I just wait for it to be fixed at the shop (they are replacing the starter they put in late Nov since it is failing again...). Be nice to be running reliably again.
What else... my boss talked with our VP and they both agree 1. I am way underpaid 2. They want to get me a raise and 3. They dont want to wait for the next cycle (May-June) to get it for me. Now, can I trust my boss (ex car salesman) to handle this or is he just blowing smoke to keep me from walking. Time will tell, but I cant wait forever.
Now... I think it is time to get some kind of lunch in me... working from home is so straining on the mind... email here...SG post there...email here... how can i handle it

Anyway, I'm always horrible reading people at poker, am myself pretty straight-up and predictable, but I always try to play the odds game. Some may say that that takes the fun out of the game, but for me the fun is in the numbers.
