Jordan's going to be working himself to the bone for the next few days. He's taken on three overtime days in the next week, making it a grand total of 9 days in a row that he'll be working. 9 days of 12 hour shifts. He's doing it for us, and while I appreciate it so incredibly much, I know that this is going to tear him apart.
I get worried when he does this kind of stuff, but, well, he never asked me if he should do it first. He just up and did it, and now he can't take it back.
His paycheck on the 23rd is going to be insane though. They have some weird company policy where if you work seven days in a row, you get paid like triple time or something. Since I don't know how that works exactly, I didn't figure it into my calculations, which lead me to a little over thirteen hundred dollars on his next check. So... it'll be higher than that. Which... oh my goodness, that will definetly pull us out of this. Hopefully, by then, I'll be working too, so we'll be bringing in even more money.
I hate making posts just about working and money, but, well, when you don't have money and you have bills due, it's all that you can think about. For instance, I wrote a check today for $600 for back rent and current rent, and my landlord can't even cash it until the 9th. That'll take out a huge chunk of his check, but we'll be good on rent, and be able to pay for electric and insurance, and groceries. Yes, we'll be going under again this pay period, but just like this time, it will be controlled. No more wildly spending until we owe the bank $900. It's on lockdown.
Also, to those of you who aren't dirt broke, if you wish to help us get to Cleveland for the Fear Factory concert on the 19th (which I bought tickets for back in like May or something), leave a comment and I'll tell you ways to help in a more.. private setting. Just so you know, Fear Factory is Jordan's all-time favorite band. He's loved them for years and years, and has dreamed of the day when he'd get to see them live. I've figured that it'll cost us $100 to get up there and back, if we eat cheaply along the way (our car doesn't do so well on gas).
Now something not about money!
I've been cleaning like a freak lately. I kinda let things go for a couple days, because I felt like total shit, stress and sickness getting to me, but today I used it as a sort of therapy. And goddamnit, that kitchen floor is so clean one could eat off of it. Although I wouldn't really suggest it - we have cats.
I plan on going to the doctor on Thursday. This damn cold has moved to my lungs, and it makes it kinda hard to breathe, which wakes me up if I'm trying to sleep, which totally doesn't help the stress factor. My grandma wants me to get some hard liquor to burn it out of my throat... but really, I think she just wants me to get drunk so she can make fun of me at family reunions or something.
But, yeah, that's about all that's going on in my life.
EDIT:
Check this shit out guys... Let's Say Thanks - for our troops in Iraq
