Mouse traps, don't know a plumber or a roofer (had leak problems myself in the last place I lived. landlords never fixed it and tried to blame it on me when I moved out), a hug... of course, anytime. smile

Sounds like you need to move out as soon as you can.

As far as family goes I'm in the same position as you. They don't really know much about me and aside from my parents I hardly talk to any of them... except last month... the holidays. whatever

The storm has to let up sometime.

I've heard of using peppermint soaked cotton balls before

Sounds like you need a new place to live! This is the same roommate as before, right? The one that kept letting your dog out? Any chance you can move somewhere else?

I would love to give you a big hug, but I've no plans to be in Ohio any time soon! frown

Oh, and how long does your grampa have to be in the nursing home? My mom is in one right now for post surgery treatment, and I found out that they vary wildly in quality! The first one she was in was nightmarish, but I was able to get her moved to a MUCH better facility before I went on my trip, and happily she gets to go home on Tues.

you totally need to pack your s@#$ and get out fast!

wow. dickensian is my new favorite adjective. and i cetainly couldn't have chosen a better one for all of that. as far as knowing plumbers and all such, not around here i don't. and as far as not feeling like you belong anywhere, i feel you. maybe you should get a traveling job. it teaches you to be less seasick from the movement of life, and plus it reminds you why some people need a real home.

or you could just get the hell out of Dayton. seriously.

this crap kinda scares me though cuz i've got to find a new place to live close to beavercreek or riverside (cuz i have no car and i wanna be close to my work). i've been desperate to find something cheaper than 400 and that i don't need to sign a year lease. and i feel like the only places like that have leaky faucets and meeses
bugbue:
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Your housing situation seems unbearable. High tail it!
holagatita:
I would never use one of the cruel traps either. If the peppermint soaked cotton balls didn't work, maybe you could humanely trap a bunch of them at a time and relocate them, far far away. That way they can be together still. biggrin

I'm glad the nursing home seems top notch, but I can understand how some people just aren't nursing home type people, and your grampa sounds like one of them! I hope he can come to accept it.

You know I do.
I mean, WE do....
Do you still live with Krissy's ex?
Man!
Call me fucker!!!!!
I mean, call me on the phone, you fucker!
Don't call me a fucker...
Or send me your #.
s_eldorado:
Can I fedex you a hug?

That sucks about your landlord. Do you guys have a Tenancy act there? I'd recommend calling and finding out about what rights and recourse you have. My solution would be to withhold rent until that shit is fixed and start looking for another place. But I don't recommend it unless you know that the law is on your side.

It's really tough to balance work with friends but it gets better over time. My friends know my deal and are really good about it but I just have to give them a heads up and chase them down whenever I think I might have some free time.

As for your guy, relationships are meant to be 2 way streets so if he's not honouring that maybe it's time to bail? Of course, I know nothing of your situation so I could be severiously wrong. smile

Best of luck with everything, lovely. xo
corpho:
Damn gurl. My heart goes out to you. I used to get chest infections all the time when I lived in Houston. Even got pneumonia once. New York doesn't have the cleanest air, but I haven't had an infection in years. I hope you can get somehwere healthier soon. Your roommate, if it's the same one you've had for some months now, sounds like he needs a swift kick in the kiester.

afterbirth:
You're such a smartass.

Fedex you a hug!
Ahahahahahahaha!
puke

Oh, and a cat is the best cure for mice and the only one I'm ever really comfortable with.
