No shit. We keep sending troops over and see little to no progress. What good will sending more do? The surrounding countries (Iran and Syria) need to be included in talks and strategy. Not including neighboring countries is part of what got us in this shitty situation anyways.
The whole situation has been a gigantic clusterfuck from the beginning. When the invasion began way back when I had a very long commute and listened to the reports on my way in and back. I honestly cannot see how republicans find the stomach to back George Bush, support what he says and just kiss his ass overall.
Did you ever see the movie Wag the Dog? I'm a big David Mamet fan to begin with, but seeing Bush's reelection campaign pretty much mimicking the "Don't change horses midstream" idea that was mocked in the movie was completely ridiculous. But then again, I'd say the same thing about the entire Bush administration.
Short version... I agree with you. The culture of the people over there just doesn't mesh with american ideologies and the strategists just don't seem to get it. the more they try to americanize the country, the worse the violence gets. BAH!
ditto...DITTO! I use to be all in the politics. I have copious amounts of weekly news journals and mags and I don't read any of them any more. I'm fed up of hearing the same shit over and over again. Where's paradise, I wanna go!
