peeing on a steek: it depends on who you ask really. generally speaking, all the tests boast that you can test "even as soon as the day after you miss your period!" but see, this is the thing. nature is a cruel, cruel prankster. the symptoms that i'm experiencing are the same ones that could mean that i'm just gonna have a wierd period this month for no apparent reason, could mean that my body's adjusting to the birthcontrol pills i started taking last month, or it could mean i'm in the early stages of infestation.
the thing that makes me worry is that i've taken birth control pills before and they've never affected me quite this way. my period should be next week, so, we'll see about that. and to top it all off, my best friend who just had a baby told me that some of the things i'm experiencing are the same ones she did when she was 3 weeks pregnant, which, as luck would have it, is how pregnant i should be if i am.
so there. fuckin waiting game at this point
foxfyre819:
and by the way, thanks for the good mom comment. that's really sweet. i often wonder if i'd really be as good a mom as i feel my children deserve. good to have some positive-ness in my corner.
foxfyre819:
well, hon, therein lies the problem. see, how those stick things work is that it tests the level of pregnancy hormones present in your urine. and before the first missed period, there is generally little to none available for testing. i've taken 2 tests already, both negative. BUT that doesn't mean anything yet. my mom was 3 months pregnant with me before one of those things showed up positive. she kept trying to tell the doctors that she was pregnant until one day she was standing in line somewhere, fainted, went to the hospital, and they were like, "um. yer pregnant." and my mom being my mom was like, "yeah. no shit."
then there are all those random stories you hear about this one girl who had her period all thru her pregnancy, therefore, she didn't know she was pregnant until way late. (already had some padding on her obviously)
this is the one true and honest thing:
every woman is different. every woman has a different combination of symptoms. every period is different everytime. and every pregnancy is different everytime. so really, it's just a guessing game.
foxfyre819:
amen, brother.

hmm...in retrospect i should have tried the double espressos...the day may have been more bearable.
