Hates Law School

Did not make law review. Only kids in the top 26 out of 196 made it. So much for 50% grades, 50% written submission. It's all a bunch of bullshit. I read a handful of the submissions that made it and they were fucking book reports! I've never been so disillusioned with the educational process. It makes me fucking sick.

What SN said. The higher up you go, the more actual merit matters less and personal connections matter more. And not just personal connections, but preferences, opinions, and popularity.

Though I haven't even started law school, and hoping to sell a screenplay shortly after I begin so I can potentially drop out, the exposure through a girlfriend and roommate's girlfriend was enough to make me think none too highly of writing for the law.

It seems 25% your own logic or opinions and 75% basing of that logic and opinions on the legal precedents set by others in the past. I bet it was cool to be a judge or a lawyer when the nation was young...
