I was the AME on RENT. My ME was Dave Kerr, My TD was Mark Comito, and the Carp was Mikey Norris. That was for the 2001-2003 tour. I could have stayed on, but there was a good chance they were gonna transfer me to Fosse, or Kiss me Kate.

It's a bittersweet thing. For one thing, he still didn't call or stop by or email or anything. Someone else had to put us in the same room. Also, it was obvious that he's very much in the "inside crowd" thing at the place where both of us used to work, and I'm no longer on the inside.

I guess I just wish, at some point, as a friend, he'd sought me out. I missed him. I'm glad he's out of a bad place. But sooner or later I get tired of chasing after certain people, and I just want them to grow the fuck up, and reciprocate a little.

All right, done venting.
molonel:
Oh, and ...

Glad you had fun at prom. I look forward to the pics.

What did you wear?
tinyelvis:
I hope all is well. Good luck with the whole thing in your last journal.

What shows you working on? I'm on the crew for Pirates of Piz.... at the Guthrie Theater in Minnesota. Big show. We have the LD instructor from Yale, Stephen Strawbridge, designing. Focused Friday night [just show focus] and it took us 6 hours. The Rep focus was the night before and took us 3 hours. Crazy. And to top that off, I just got done designing a show and the Guthrie's second stage "the Lab." Opened on Thursday night. CRAZY.

Enuff rambles.

May 6th- June 13th. Pirates info. Yeah, the 1st 3 hours was for the rep focus. The guthrie has about 200 lights hung all year long in a "Rep Plot." Then the designers come in and add whatever the show need to that Rep plot. Most of the time, they double up the rep for color and add like temp's for flavor. Then they add for show specials. In this show they're repealing from the grid. Flying all over the place. It's pretty cool. But it does sorta seem like the pirates have been at sea TOOOOO long. Sorta of dancers/singers/pirates/wanna be tuff guys. Pretty funny.

The Yalie seemed uptight. But alright. This week will tell. TECH with notes in the morning and night. NOTES! ahhhh

I do like classic animation. I like all things that remind me of childhood. Here in Portland, I just went to see the exhibit for Mr. Rogers at the Portland Children's museum. I got to see one of his original sweaters, and a pair of those shoes he always changed into at the beginning of the shoe.

I spent the later part of my teens fearful that he would be discovered as some sick, twisted sort of fuck with a dungeon in his basement and a taste for nubile flesh.

But no, he turned out to be exactly what he seemed: a kind, caring man who genuinely loved children and wanted to create a better world for him.

Sometimes, I think maybe God does exist.
