I was just looking back on your March 9th post re: Electric Eels. I have on my desk here another good CD to pick up-- Those Were Different Times, a Cleveland comp with several songs by them. I bought it direct from the label, www.scatrecords.com. The Electric Eels songs on it are poorly recorded, not very musical, horrible, offensive and GREAT.
The best E-Eels CD, God Says Fuck You, is apparently out of print. People somehow don't seem to appreciate that these guys were MORE PUNK THAN ANYONE and they recorded this stuff in 1973-75...so pick it all up while you can, however you can.
I re-told a friend a couple days ago about my Seven Year Rule-- bands, ALL bands, should seriously consider breaking up after 7 years or less. (I derived the figure from the general length of the Beatles career.) It gets really stale after that for 99% of bands. Reunions are generally a bad idea, yes. Move on, be creative, do something else, throw away the safety net.
ps - I was just looking at Scat's track listing of Eyeball...they say this version of "Agitated" is far better than previously-released versions. This seems HARD to believe, the GSFY version is STELLAR, but hell I need to check this one out. I wish they didn't play it format-cute and just put all the fuggin stuff on the CD and not divvying it up on the vinyl.
Shit! That would be incredible! "I think I'm gonna fucking throw up - AAAHHH" The jesus lizard show album is unbelievable! It's hard to believe you have a straight sound feed! I'm really excited. Let me know what I need to do to help this situation along. You can reach me at soundtelesis@hotmail.com! Thanks.
