i find it interesting that the avs gave up so little for marchment, compared to what they threw in for kasparaitis last year. but is this really a deal colorado thinks will put them over the top? marchment usually causes more trouble than he does good... wait, that sounds familiar. still a pretty decent move though. the pens just keep unloading.. i might have to retire my jersey to the rafters of my apartment, it's getting too humiliating to wear in public.

for the alphabetical groups, i try to limit it to what records and cds i own.. i'm starting to feel the pressure though.. i can hardly wait for some nice, easy letters like "s".

I am happy that they just traded draft picks for Marchment. Hopefully he'll be a better match than Kasparitis....but don't knock Skoula!! i HATE marchment. but, i guess it's a case where you'd rather have him on your team than one you're going to face.
Jeez the West is stacked. When the top 3 or 4 teams from thw West are so obviously better than the top of the East.. and they STILL go out and pad their roster. jeez.

dallas looks like they're going to be pretty tough.. odelein, and barnes are both good players. i remember when barnaby played for the pens, and in the playoffs he and odelein had some nastiness going back and forth. barnaby kept referring to odelein as "cornelius" (planet of the apes).. too funny.

maybe the avs will pick up ricci... i'm just praying the pens don't deal straka, morozov, or hedberg.

things could have been worse today.. the pens can at least put one good line out next year.. straka/lemieux/morozov. after that, it's pretty much picking names out of a hat. this is assuming of course, craig patrick doesn't dump more salary over the summer, or at the entry draft.

i was kind of surprised to see hrdina go to phoenix. i thought for sure washington was going to deal for him, since jagr runs that team. i was also surprised that niemenen didn't get dealt. he has one of the worst +/- on the team, and he looks pretty slow at times.. not to mention he was a healthy scratch a few times last week.

kind of a weak showing for the avs... but they're already stacked anyway. battaglia was real solid last year.. looks like a pretty good deal.
