Heh ... I just saw your entry in my journal.

If you're asking about my profile picture, it's the NYY 'Legends' Field' in Tampa ... I took it last year when I went down for spring training.

I'm a Phillies fan ... that game was Bret Myers' first ever start at the ML level (albeit preseason) ...

I'm heading back down to Clearwater, FL in a few weeks.

PS - I have no pictures from my one day in Fenway (*sigh*) and GO FLYERS!!!

I've mostly given up on being part of a scene. I go to most punk shows alone. I like the music I like, but when I go out I'm either surrounded by punker-than-thou scenesters, or 12-year-olds in their Hot Topic clothes. So most of my friends these days aren't into my 'scene' per se, just people I get along with. Witness my spending Tuesday nights at Vinyl listening to bad techno music. But it's fun, damnit.
And I hate people who think flipping off the band is punk rock. Bah. Makes me want to kick them in the head with my steeltoes and show them what punk is. wink
I'm still hoping to make it to that show Saturday night, and I'm working on an SGCO event....

i'm with you on this entry.. i think too often coloured hair, and combat boots gets mistaken for punk rock. better yet mohawks.. it just becomes another clique of people who hang out together because they look the same. ever look at a gutterpunk's record collection? it's just sad.

so, who do you think the avalanche will deal, or pick up at the trade deadline? for a while i kept hearing they were going to deal tanguay, but that seems pretty unlikely now.
aoife:
How about #40 tonight??????

Does he just keep getting better, or am I just blinded by love? wink

Franchise record sounds good to me...oh, and smack that Kopper guy and tell him not to blaspheme about trading Tanguay! wink

crispy:
I want your job! That sounds sweet ...

Yeah, definitely gonna miss The Vet. I pretty much spend most of my Sundays at the place ... I'm an Eagles season ticket holder and a Phillies 13 game (all the Sunday games) plan holder. I grew up there. I've been to every Phils home opener (except 95 ... grrr, strike) since '84 or so.

Of course, I'll welcome both the Linc and the Phils' new park ... I'm already guaranteed seats in both. Woo-hoo!!

Great article about the shitty day that was the NFC Championship Game:

i really do hate the leafs.. not to mention i get bludgeoned over the head with coverage of them.. i don't know if you've been up to the toronto area before, but it's totally insane. between their losing streak, the nolan trade, and the bench incident the other night they have lots to bitch and complain about. they just keep dropping more cash, and my team just keeps dropping more players. bring on collective bargaining..

i actually live about an equal distance to toronto, buffalo, and detroit.. so hockey coverage is pretty intense. i imagine the beginning of the year in colorado when the avs were tanking was pretty intense. they're not used to losing.

and, don't knock the eastern conference... that's where they play the real hockey. smile
aoife:
grrr! I was in hell (read: at work) and caught bits of the first period. they looked great! then what happened?? I missed most of it...

anyway, did you read my comments about the Avalanche wives coming in to my restaurant? How amusing. Do you happen to know who's married to the really really scary looking blonde chick?
