I know that everyones family is f&@# up a bit, some worse than others. Mine really isnt so bad, but it does take some hard turns sometimes. Ijust found out that my Dad is filling a lawsuit with against my mom for the second time (he dropped the first one 3 years ago). Neither of them want to get me involved, so they wont go into details, but they both still want to tell me that its going on. In the process they each do a little of their own story twisting.
From what I have gathered over the years its something like this; My mom split (with me) when I was 1. A few years latter she went through school and became a teacher. I grew up with her, and saw my dad a number of times a year. The sticky part is the money. Its always the money. According to him, hes paid child support religiously, but under the table so that my mom could get help from the Big Brother. Now the Big Brother is coming after him for being a dead beat dad who never paid child support. Hes trying to get her to fess up to taking under the table payments so that theyll leave him alone. He claims that they cant go after her because the statute of limitations has passed, and shes safe. Shes reluctant, so hes filing suit against her for what the state is charging him with. Shes claiming that sometimes he would send money, but she was pretty much on her own.
I do know that money changed hands under the table.
I know that my mom is pretty good at living a little bit of a Polly Anna life
I also know the my Dad is an addict; cocaine, gambling, women, prescription drugs. Hes quit most, but still has the personality that goes along with it. So his memory is defiantly not the clearest.
Its interesting to have parent who are both delusionary enough that you cant put complete faith in them but sane enough that you cant completely discredit them.

Its about to get ugly.
