jormagund:
I have no particular advice in this circumstance. I think everyone needs to make certain life decisions without the pollution of other people's (sometimes jaded) opinions. Having stated that, if it were ME... I'd be at the very least calling around to other potential carriers. I'd explain what it is about your current situation that leaves you unhappy and unfulfilled... and see if they can offer you any solutions.

"All right, you mutinous, disloyal, computerized half-breed. We'll see about you deserting my ship. "
temper:
I even own Lederhosen, just don't tell anyone. wink

(It's actually not that much of a typo ~ since I was brought up bilingually I constantly mix the languages and wildly translate phrases from one into the other. I realize I'm doing this, and that it's erroneous, strictly speaking. But seeing puzzled faces, or even infecting other people with this so they do the same, is great fun and increases my pleasure in life. smile )
princkly:
I'm a long way away and only have a cursory overview of your situation but my advice on the little information I have is move now.
1. By leaving you will be taking the affirmative. You will be demonstrating to yourself (and others) that you will call the shots on your life - not others.
2. Through "probation" they've already told you they're putting a gun to your head. I can see their point but I can see yours better. You had "accidents" (tell them to look up the word in the dictionary). You've done nothing wrong. Fuck em! You can't work under those circumstance.
3. If you do have another accident, being dismissed is not good for your ego or for your resume
On the information you have given us I'd say move now.
Good luck my friend!
salome:
If you're that worried, then quit. Getting fired never looks good on the resume.
figmentation:
It's easier to find a job when ou have a job.

just think up something good to tell them as to *why* you're looking
